As the sun sets on Summer Streets Festival 2026 we want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved.
First and foremost, thank YOU, our fantastic audience. Every year we stand on that field and wonder if anyone will turn up. You never let us down, showing up in your thousands, cheering on all our artists, supporting new music and creating the warm, welcoming community feeling that everyone talks about. Summer Streets is nothing without its audience!
One of our favourite things about the festival is that we have musicians, artists, workshop practitioners and performers across a variety of art forms, playing all different types of music, aged from 8 to 80, from all walks of life. Plus our wonderful hosts Jeff Brown, , Lucy 🎙️ and Shakk keeping everyone informed the whole way through. Thank you to everyone who performed on our stages - the North East music scene is in an excellent state.
And thanks to our Summer Streets team - the crew and volunteers who run the event, making sure everyone is happy, safe and having a great time. So many of those folk volunteer their time for free to support the festival. We couldn’t do it without you!
Finally an enormous thanks to our funders and partners, without you the event simply could not happen. Thank you to Arts Council England, Sunderland MAC Trust, Cultural Spring, Sunderland Culture, , NAME, , Music Connects Sunderland, Pop Recs CIC, Printswift, Sunderland UK North Area Committee, University of Sunderland, Sunderland College, Sunderland’s BIDs, , and all of our big screen partners!
See you again in 2027!
