A gentle reminder that Carnival House will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September, as we come together to celebrate the life of our wonderful Mary Bogie. 🤍

Mary’s funeral will take place at 2pm at South Shields Crematorium, followed by a celebration of her life at The New Crown. Everyone who knew and loved Mary is warmly invited to join us, share their memories and raise a glass in her honour.

Thank you for your understanding. Carnival House will reopen on Friday.

🌿 Connected Through Creativity: Community Upcycling Sessions ♻️✨

There’s something special about getting creative together, sharing ideas, learning new skills and making connections along the way. 💚

Connected Through Creativity brings together young people aged 11–18 and adults aged 50+ for fun, friendly upcycling sessions where creativity and community come together.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy transforming old chairs, creating beautiful sea glass jewellery and decorating plant pots. 🌊🎨🪴

This week we will be making sea glass mobiles, painting and planting pots for the Carnival House garden, and you can even try pyrography! 🔥🌱

✨ Come along and:
• Give everyday items a new lease of life through creative upcycling
• Try different techniques and learn new skills
• Meet new people in a relaxed and welcoming environment
• Connect with people from different generations
• Contribute to creative projects that make a lasting difference in the community

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of the wonderful, fashionable, hilarious, kind and cheeky Mary Bogie.

Mary was mum to Sandy, mother-in-law to Garner and Gran to Darnel & Kye, who many of you will know as part of the Carnival House team. She was also a much-loved member of our Carnival House family in her own right.

A regular at Carnival House, Mary made so many wonderful friends here.
We will always remember her at The Thursday Club, waving a colourful scarf to “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”. Mary brought colour, glamour and joy wherever she went, and she will be hugely missed by us all.

We warmly invite our lovely Carnival House family to join us as we celebrate Mary’s life and the wonderful woman she was.

Mary loved her clothes and always took such pride in looking glamorous and classy. In true Mary style, everyone is invited to wear something colourful, glamorous and classy, or simply add a sparkly or colourful touch to their outfit ✨

Please come along to share your memories, raise a glass and help us give our beautiful Mary the send-off she deserves.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in Mary’s memory are warmly welcomed in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Carnival House will be closed on Thursday 3rd September so that we can come together to celebrate Mary’s life.

Our friendly weekly sessions are designed for adults with learning disabilities, offering a welcoming space to:

Our Seated Yoga class is a calm and welcoming session where you can move at your own pace. It’s especially suitable for older people, people living with chronic conditions, and those with physical disabilities or limited mobility. 🤍
