Sunderland Male Voice Choir We are a community choir upholding the tradition of male voice singing in North East England Rehearsals are held between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

Sunderland Male Voice Choir adopted the motto 'We rejoice in singing'. We do this for own pleasure but also the many and varied audiences in the community and at prestigious events. As a friendly group of 'n

on professional', like-minded singers, we consider ourselves approachable should you decide to apply for membership. Our song repertoire is varied, entertaining and regularly updated. The Choir does not enter competitions, but we take pride in our performances and constantly strive to sing well. To join the choir, you do not have to be able to read music, or have previous experience of singing in a choir. What we are looking for is your enjoyment of singing and eagerness to join and sing with us. If you like singing, are male, and are interested in becoming a choir member then Email: [email protected]. You could then come along to meet the choir and experience what we sing and do, we will make you most welcome. If you enjoy your experience, then our musical director will confirm whether you are a bass, baritone, first or second tenor. Booking the Choir:
Sunderland Male Voice Choir has a mixed and varied repertoire of songs for every occasion. The choir regularly performs concerts within the community at churches, community halls and theatres, at prestigious events, such as Citizenship Ceremonies, funerals and weddings. 🎶 Could you be part of Sunderland Male Voice Choir? 🎶

Do you enjoy singing? Would you like to be part of a friendly group of men who love making music together?

Sunderland Male Voice Choir is looking for new members to join us. You don’t need to be able to read music, and you don’t need previous choir experience — just a willingness to have a go, learn, and enjoy singing with others.

We rehearse on Fridays at 7pm in St. Chad’s Church Hall, and new members are very welcome to come along, listen, or join in and see how it feels.

Singing in a choir is great for confidence, friendship, wellbeing, and that unbeatable feeling of creating something powerful together.

Last night was a truly unforgettable occasion for Sunderland Male Voice Choir as we had the incredible honour of taking part in The Choir of Man at the magnificent Sunderland Empire Theatre.

What an experience it was. From the moment we stepped into the auditorium, the atmosphere was electric, and every single member of the choir thoroughly enjoyed being part of such an outstanding production. Sharing the evening with the phenomenal cast of The Choir of Man was both exciting and inspiring, and it reminded us all of the sheer joy, power, and camaraderie that live music and singing can bring.

The evening was filled with energy, laughter, emotion, and fantastic music, and our choir members came away buzzing from the experience. Opportunities like this do not come around every day, and to perform in such an iconic venue in front of such an enthusiastic audience was something very special indeed.

The performance has given the choir a real lift and renewed excitement for the future. It was wonderful to see the audience responding so warmly and to feel part of something that celebrates community, friendship, and the love of singing.

We are immensely proud to have represented the choir and the city in such a fantastic event — and we are already looking forward to the next adventure!

We’ve got not one—but two fantastic nights coming up at the Sunderland Empire… and you won’t want to miss either of them!

First up, on Wednesday 22nd April, we’ll be joining forces with the brilliant Kathleen Davis Stage School for what promises to be a vibrant and uplifting evening full of talent and energy. A night not to be missed!

Then, on Tuesday 12th May, things step up even further as we take to the stage alongside the incredible cast of Choir of Man. Expect a truly unforgettable night of music, atmosphere, and entertainment.
