My Garden Umbrella, used at the Bures Market, was badly damaged by a sudden strong gust of wind, and blown inside out, at the May event. I got round to repairing it today. Most people would buy a new umbrella, I don't think that way, and repair things that are broken.

Found in my garden, late last night, drinking and eating ........ an adult Hedgehog ! Would have made a decent Greetings card image, if I'd been able to get a picture of its face ?

A commission project in the year 2000, which made me think I'd won first prize in the national lottery. It didn't work out that way, as the 6 water colour images I painted for "Country Artists" of Staffordshire, used on Coffee Mugs, Beer Tankards, Place Mats, and [what you see here] Coasters, were only printed in small numbers and then discontinued.

If you own any of the Coffee Mug, Beer Tankard sets, these [to my knowledge] were printed [in China] in two batches of 300. I'm not sure about the Coasters and Place mats quantity ?

Many years later, I put together my own self published range of Place Mats, Coasters and Coffee Mugs, which are sold by myself, at many local Shows, such as the annual Doe Show and the monthly Bures Market

I have a new Fine Art print, of Polstead Church, a photograph taken last month. Tonight I'm putting it in a mount. It'll be on display, for sale, at Bures Market, tomorrow. This is Artist's Proof, number one. Image size is 18" x 14".

Re-visiting the Anchor Pub, Nayland, Suffolk, where I put together the signage in 2003, with help from my father, who by then, was in his mid 70's. The 3D Gold lettering and 3D Anchor are still there, after almost a quarter of a century. The sign boards which were originally blue with cream lettering, have been painted over in blackboard paint and used as chalk boards.

This seems to happen to me every week, on my travels through Suffolk and Essex. Today, 4th June 2026, 6.30 p.m., it's Little Cornard - the Bures - Sudbury road.

One hard to believe story, just today, from the Essex side. A Farmer got talking to Road repair contractor for Essex Council, putting yellow paint round pot holes, near Sudbury - that contractor had traveled all the way from BUCKINGHAMSHIRE to do the job !

26 years ago, I was commissioned by "Country Artists" of Staff-ordshire to illustrate 6 images for Plates, Coffee Mugs, Tankards and Place Mats and Coasters. Made in two batches of 300 sets, they don't turn up for sale very often. I was lucky enough to find two of the plate illustrations at the Woolpit Steam Rally, at the week-end. My Fordson E27N Tractor features on one [background scene at Hawkedon, Suffolk] and my Tumbril Cart features on the other [background scene is Clees Hall Farm, Alphamstone]
