TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Tattooing of Minors Act 1969 makes it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to get a tattoo. All customers will need to bring proof of age with them on the day, in the form of photo ID such as a passport or driving licence. The tattoo room is a strictly 'over 18s' environment. No babies or children are allowed in the studio, unless you want the apprentices to practice on

them. All consultations are free. Your booking is for the design/placement and size as discussed and agreed with your artist. Hourly rates are for larger pieces (4+ hours). Smaller tattoos will be priced individually. All bookings will require a deposit (yes, all)! Your deposit will be a minimum of £50. For larger sessions a larger deposit may be required. All deposits are non-refundable and
non-transferable. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours notice you will forfeit your deposit. You may reschedule your appointment with adequate notice (48hrs) once only before a new deposit will be required...

We will not hold your deposit indefinitely. If a new booking is not made within 7 days of rescheduling, we will assume you no longer want your tattoo and you will forfeit your deposit. Avoid drinking excess alcohol and ensure you have eaten properly and are well hydrated prior to your appointment

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or we suspect that you are, we cannot tattoo you, and you will forfeit your deposit. If you are more than 20 mins late for your appointment, the time lost will be charged at our hourly rate at our discretion and will be in addition to the cost of your tattoo once you arrive. We reserve the right not to tattoo you if you arrive leaving insufficient time for us to complete the tattoo and you will forfeit your deposit. Please look after your tattoo and follow your aftercare advice, this is your responsibility. If you have not paid a deposit, you do not have a secure/confirmed booking. If you choose to make a larger deposit, it is still subject to our policy. Deposits and payments can be made by cash, card or transfer.

I trust you're all finding living on the edge of the mojave desert to your liking?

An interesting set of circumstances arose recently which I'd like to share.

A client contacted me to inform me that they were currently taking a course of antibiotics (for an unspecified condition ) and asked my opinion as to whether they should get tattooed.

I advised that ideally they wait until the course is run, as with your body already needing help to fight an infection, adding to the workload by trying to heal a tattoo may not be advisable, and could potentially extend the usual healing period, leaving oneself more susceptible for a longer time.

On a semi related note, much faffery was had trying to place a complicated symmetrical design on a client's back, (it's not uncommon to need two or three attempts to get exactly right, so no biggie) however, after the third attempt said client tells me almost in passing, that they were jetting off to the Caribbean in a couple of weeks.

Needless to say after a light tinkling of laughter we rescheduled for after the holiday.

I know it's hot here folks, but it isn't a Caribbean beach, and a reminder to you all that the blazing sun can really do damage to your skin especially with a new tattoo. (I know this as I got sunburnt myself last week).

Hiya my little inkspots. Sitting here as I often do, looking back through some photos such as this seemingly random selection and drawing the next design I ponder on things...I was thinking why people even get tattooed, not what they get but why they bother getting anything...at all... what's the impetus?

Some will say it's rebellion, setting oneself apart, but as opinions change and society becomes more accepting of differences, where's the rebellion?

My take is that it's about belonging mostly, to a tribe, a community, a group of like minded individuals...and a need to express outwardly that which is continually felt which can't often be said.

So in that way, whether we all have the same sorts of designs or we get something we think is truly original maybe the impetus behind the desire to get tattooed is where the individuality lies?

Just a thought.

Some really wonderful words put together in a really quite wonderful way by a really most excellent client to create this marvellous review of me and my services.

Here it is in its entire glory... To start simply, if you’re looking for a tattooist, this is THE place to go. Having been getting tattooed since 1992, I’ve been in a lot of different places over the years, had work from a good few different tattooists and seen a lot of different stuff. It’s been less than two months since I first went in for a small piece and found both Stu and Neif extremely welcoming, and the atmosphere of the shop supremely cool: great vibe, excellent music, and incredibly talented tattooists.

Stuart’s work is exemplary — no other word for it. He has such a great eye for detail and a real feel for what a client wants, both in custom designs and in stuff you might bring in. Every tattoo I’ve had from him becomes an instant favourite! I haven’t yet been tattooed by Neif, but I’ve seen her working — stellar stuff as well!

Honestly, I cannot stop going back, and I’m SO glad I found the place. Between me and my partner, we’ve had 10 tattoos in the last couple of months — some smaller pieces and some pretty sizable ones. I’m booked in for my biggest single tattoo yet in a couple of weeks and trust Stu implicitly with the design. I very comfortably can ask Stu to draw out what he thinks will work in the space with nothing more than me giving a simple design idea — and I just KNOW it’s going to turn out incredibly!

Cannot — just cannot — recommend the place highly enough!
