TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Tattooing of Minors Act 1969 makes it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to get a tattoo. All customers will need to bring proof of age with them on the day, in the form of photo ID such as a passport or driving licence. The tattoo room is a strictly 'over 18s' environment. No babies or children are allowed in the studio, unless you want the apprentices to practice on

them. All consultations are free. Your booking is for the design/placement and size as discussed and agreed with your artist. Hourly rates are for larger pieces (4+ hours). Smaller tattoos will be priced individually. All bookings will require a deposit (yes, all)! Your deposit will be a minimum of £50. For larger sessions a larger deposit may be required. All deposits are non-refundable and
non-transferable. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours notice you will forfeit your deposit. You may reschedule your appointment with adequate notice (48hrs) once only before a new deposit will be required...

We will not hold your deposit indefinitely. If a new booking is not made within 7 days of rescheduling, we will assume you no longer want your tattoo and you will forfeit your deposit. Avoid drinking excess alcohol and ensure you have eaten properly and are well hydrated prior to your appointment

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or we suspect that you are, we cannot tattoo you, and you will forfeit your deposit. If you are more than 20 mins late for your appointment, the time lost will be charged at our hourly rate at our discretion and will be in addition to the cost of your tattoo once you arrive. We reserve the right not to tattoo you if you arrive leaving insufficient time for us to complete the tattoo and you will forfeit your deposit. Please look after your tattoo and follow your aftercare advice, this is your responsibility. If you have not paid a deposit, you do not have a secure/confirmed booking. If you choose to make a larger deposit, it is still subject to our policy. Deposits and payments can be made by cash, card or transfer.

The brief was "I want a full back piece featuring the grim reaper". The top cross was already there, done by a different tattooist, but I was given pretty much free rein on this one. Completed over 3 sittings. And he's back again soon to be turned over so I can start on his chest.

Hiya inkspots... so over the years I've done loads of cover up tattoos, people ask for them for all sorts of reasons; sometimes it's because they no longer like what they originally had (people change I guess), sometimes it's not the design it's just that it was poorly done and they want rid, sometimes it is the design or the placement and sometimes it's an association they want to remove.

Well I will always do my best for you, I can cover up, disguise and rework old pieces... but not everything and not in all instances will leave you with a pleasing outcome.

I'll be honest with you, I won't just tattoo you for the sake of it and sometimes that can be disappointing and in some cases upsetting.

We have to live with the consequences of our actions in tattoos as in life... or... I can direct you to find some lovely big shiny laser to obliterate those "camel toes", "cut heres", "Magaluf'94s" and any amount of Daves, Sams and Julies who as it turned out weren't 4eva so much as t***s!

We all make mistakes and they make great stories and I love you all whether or not you choose to live with the inky reminders.

Its school summer holidays so I find myself at home a bit more this week, and as I'm not tattooing my mind has gone on a bit of a wander..."where has it been?" I hear you say. Well it went of on a tangent thats where.

Who or what was it that influenced (or more accurately inspired) me to do thus thing that I do for a job?
Let's face it , it's a pretty odd and unusual thing to do.
and to be clear this is all retrospective, I don't recall a point where I ever said "i want to be a tattooist" it just sort of happened.
A few names sprang to mind, most make some sense and in no particular order all played their part to one degree or another,
Rusty Skuse...some of you will know the name, my dad was stationed in Aldershot in the early 70s and I recall either seeing her or an article about her and being amazed and somewhat awestruck at someone with so many tattoos it was much later that I learned of her links to and place in British tattooing history.
Fat Bob! A character by any measure, He did some of my very first tattoos, and I thought he was just the coolest , when I met him he lived on and worked from a barge moored next to a pub at Pin Mill in Suffolk, see ...cool

Hiya inkspots

You know it used to be that 21° was a lovely warm day...still, the summer wears on and although it's a little cooler today I for one am longing for autumn.

With that in mind I thought I'd show you this recently completed leg sleeve, full of berries and woodland animals and stuff that brings those mellow autumn days to the forefront of your brain, well it did me anyway.

It was done a few hours at a time over many sessions and as I'm sure you can appreciate it took a while to complete.

But here we are...it is done and I hope you like it.

If you were having a large scale sleeve tattoo what would it represent? Would you have a theme? I'm interested, let me know.

Did I mention I can't wait for autumn to get here?
