Meet Ruby 🤍

I was sent this photo of Ruby from Shasha, after Ruby sadly passed away recently.

Ruby was such a gentle, fun-loving girl who absolutely adored people. 🤍
Give her the slightest bit of attention and she’d be straight in for a leg hug and belly rubs, whatever the weather. 🐾

She was clearly very loved, and will be very missed.

A couple of recent dog drawings 🐾✏️

First up is Bertie (aka Bertie Blinder 😂). I was sent his photo by Mevan Ann and just knew I had to draw him. He absolutely pulls off that hat, and I really enjoyed trying to capture that cheeky little expression. Thank you Mevan for the great photo!

Then there’s Lily ❤️ 'The happiest dog in Dunoon' and her expression really does justify the title 😁. I loved how much of her personality came across in just this one photo. Thank you Karen for the amazing photo of Lily.

So I knew when Ann Clark kindly sent her photo of Anil, the sweet, blind, romanian rescue pup - it was going to be a real honour to draw.

There were so many details in this one, I could have easily got lost! 😅
Finding that balance was a joy to do, especially adding those finishing touches at the end 🐎✍️

Her eyes were definitely the first thing that caught my attention and probably the thing I found hardest to get right 👀 Absolutely loved drawing her though and thank you Rhiannon for trusting me to draw her!

It never gets boring bringing different pets to life.
In this case drawing Poppy, the lovely boarder collie. Using layers of charcoal, hints of colour and a touch of ink.

Who is not your traditional black and white Border Collie. She's actually Sable and White!🐕

Nancy Honeyball kindly let me use Poppy as a reference to draw her. 🙏🏼The first of many generous volunteers to let me draw their pets. 🐶🐱🦎🐴🐢

Poppy challenged me on this one, as I tried to put in her stunning hints of greys and browns without it overwhelming the drawing, but enough to still bring out her personality.

I hope I achieved this within my style.😅
