While doing house to house enquiries in Bitterne, we’ve been joined by a specialist traffic unit. Little PC Eddie was eager to help on his very advanced police motorcycle. He informed us he was out catching bad guys, and clearly his bike is much faster than our car. No doubt, his enthusiasm, made our day go a little bit quicker.

A reminder that, if were not rushing off to emergencies, we will always engage with members of the community, especially ones that are as happy to see us as Eddie here. Please feel free to approach us and say hello.

Quay Productions and Pelham Elliott Productions are thrilled that The Quay Sudbury will see the world premiere of the first stage adaptation of the much-loved modern classic “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day”, a fun and light hearted story set in the Thirties.
Miss Pettigrew, a dowdy governess down on her luck, is sent for a job to the wrong address and encounters the glamorous night club singer Miss Delysia LaFosse - and over the course of a day becomes more involved and enamoured by the life of Miss LaFosse and her set – and blossoms!
The novel has been described as feeling like a Fred Astaire film; the play has been summed up as “a perfect combination of Cinderella meeting Jeeves and Wooster!”
Pelham Elliott who has adapted the novel is a Suffolk based actor, director and writer living in Sudbury. He was keen that the adaptation should keep the humour, effervescence, and joy of the original novel. The adaptation is approved by the son of the novel’s author, Winifred Watson.

Act One left me feeling ‘disturbed’ by the events we witnessed and kept me riveted to my seat for Act Two. You really do need to go and see Man and Boy to understand why! Malcolm delivered a masterful performance as the head of the family and multi-million empire he had built over the years and was a force to be reckoned with compared to his ‘soft’ son played sensitively by Matt. Supported by an all-round strong cast and directed so ably by first-time Director Nick in a mesmerising and clever set - thanks to Stuart and Adam.
