Open those studio doors! 🔑 Registration for Open Studios is open until 26th February 2026.

We print and distribute around 13,000 copies of our directory across the South West and beyond. We find that visitors make specific visits to Stroud for our Open Studios weekends, keep the directories for years, and contact artists long after the festival.

So it’s a great addition to an art practice, offering a wealth of publicity, plus opportunities to collaborate and connect with other artists, galleries, groups and organisations.

Open Studios is part of the wider programme of Site Festival, allowing artists to explore, develop projects and open their work up to the public.

The directory is made up of Open Studios Listings, and a section of Features. This option gives you both, as a group of artists.

For artists aged 30 and under, it's a fully funded way to explore your practice with Open Studios. We pair bursary artists with Open Studios artists, for helpful conversations, collaborations or support.

📌 in Painswick : an invitation for poets and sculptors, in two locations :

🔹The Red House - Ideal for someone who would like a quiet space to test some poetry ideas, and interact with the public.
🔹The Field at the front of the entrance to the gardens, would be an ideal spot for sculpture.

☀️ Performative or collaborative art practice? You could experiment and play with ideas for Site Festival this June..

We loved the series of Young Artist Residencies at 2021-2022 for example, and these collaborations often happen during Site Festival.
We also have bursaries again this year for artists 30 and under - details to apply are on our website.

First video is Ruby Kester and Alexandra Holmes at in 2022.

Image 2 : Chapel Street community group weekly Ideas Café is supported by Stroud Town Council and held in the Salvation Army citadel. They installed origami butterflies on Acre Street for Site 2024, and invited visitors to have a cup of tea, and make their own..

Image 3 : took part in Site Festival 2025, inviting visitors to see spontaneous movement improvisations from members of Bodyscape and others.

Image 4 : produced audio postcards in 2025, resulting in playful audio work & podcasts, specially created for SITE 2025 in collaboration with artists & festival producers.
