Barny's Birthday 2026 review:
A lovely night for Barny's Birthday with a fantastic array of talent from floor singers as well as our esteemed guests.
Barny's is lucky to have a great choice of first class floor singers, musicians with talent and originality who regularly turn up to play.
Thanks to Johnny Coppin, our enthusiastic patron since Barny's first started, to Malcolm, Steve & Suzanne, Sue Edwards, Clive & Janice,
Jan & Ian, Geoff & Maria, Paulie, Richard & Anne, Jeff & Elaine forproviding excellent entertainment.
Bruce, our support act was a true performer with an impressive selection of original, often hilarious songs that kept us on the edge of our seats. (Great trainers too!) It's the first time Barny's has had the pleasure of welcoming a musician from Australia and we were so pleased that Bruce was able to include Barny's into his busy schedule before embarking on his Spanish pilgrimage.
Our main guests, Martin and Emma Vogwell are great favourites at Barny's. They were one of the first duos I booked 13 years' ago, and they have gone from strength to strength, not only as a duo but as a popular band, Cobbler's Child. Their carefully chosen mix of songs with superb guitar work from Martin and haunting vocals from Emma provided a first class finale to a successful evening.
Thanks to all of you, to Pam our wonderful and accommodating landlady, to Julian as MC, to Amy for being a technical wizard, to Jan, Ken and Janice whose efficiency and good humour keep me sane, and to our wonderful audience, without whom Barny's wouldn't exist.
