This weekend at the The Folk of Gloucester Theatre Festival - I am reviving the Smoking Show - an everyday tale of life, ci******es and matters arising.

I don't often do autobiographical shows and this looks at 40 years of my life as one reviewer said "through a smokescreen of ci******es ".

It is funny, it is serious, it is sad and a look at the change of social behaviour.

Coming to the Folk of Gloucester on Saturday 21st February - Daria Kulesh will be performing a special commemorative show Echoes of Ingushetia on the anniversary of her grandmother and others being driven out of their homeland by Stalin on 24th February 1944.
Daria is an award winning singer and songwriter and has been described by Mike Harding as “one of the finest voices and one of the most intriguing and interesting songwriters on the present folk scene”. Born in Russia but based in the UK for the last 15 years, she fearlessly explores her heritage and turbulent family history in Ingushetia (a federal subject of Russia in the North Caucasus). As FATEA magazine said, her songs “aren’t just sung, but lived”.
This promises to be a remarkable evening.
