I had a lovely, relaxing day yesterday in the studio. The first coat of varnish applied to eight paintings. Seven paintings backed, labelled and fully completed ready for sale. Then to my delight, my latest purchase was delivered; a vintage enamelled turntable. I have been looking for one for some time to create a spin box. Alfie's paddling pool borrowed and these are the results of my first two spin paintings. I am delighted with the results. Lovely round cells created without the irregular shapes from hand tilting. The colours remind me of Spencer's Sweet Pea mix. So pretty.

The smallest of the collection 'White Surf' measures just 15cms square. I love this subtle colour palette; iridescent blue greens, metallic silver and just a hint of white. Some of the cells are stunning.

'Shoreline', again with the same iridescent colours and created on a 20cm square deep box canvas. The gold metallic paint creates the wonderful illusion of wet sand, glistening in the sun.

The damp weather and dull days has certainly hampered drying these last few weeks, particularly on the largest canvas from my Sand & Sea Collection. My plan today will be to start varnishing that one. The smaller ones are now finished and I am delighted with the results. Here is sneak preview of the finished results before Iist them for sale in my Etsy Shop........ 'The Cove' was inspired by a photograph I took several years ago whilst on holiday in north Cornwall. A flip cup pour on a 30cm x 25cm canvas using several iridescent colours.

Just a few pieces from my weekend in the studio. I am loving the iridescent pearl, blues and turquoise greens coupled with the metallic gold in my Sand & Sea Collection.

The last to be created, a set of two entitled 'Lilac Time'. I had plenty of discarded over-run paint and medium mix from the previous three paintings. It was getting late and the natural light in my studio was failing. I just took a chance and dropped these two 15 cm square canvases into the mess. At the time I couldn't even see if they would be worth keeping. When I looked the next morning I was so delighted with the results. They have really delicate colours and very pretty cells. Most definitely a keeper and make a lovely complimentary pair.

Again great cells on this piece entitled 'Ansiki'. A 20cm x 15cm flip cup pour in pretty shades of plum, purple and blue. I can't see any creatures on this one but let me know if you do.

Another flip cup pour this time on a 20cm square canvas and entitled 'Flying High'. The blue bird in this painting is soaring high in the sky. It has a number of beautiful cells particularly in the bottom left hand corner.

I was blown away by the results of this particular day in the studio. It was a good day where everything went well first attempt. The same batch of paint colours produced such wide ranging results with hidden creatures. Can you spot the whale swimming through 'Ebb And Flow'? A flip cup pour on a 30cm square canvas.

Lastly, 'Eternal Flame' is my absolute favourite from this set. Another swipe on a 15cm x 15 cm canvas but this time using a metallic pewter paint which makes the painting glow with vibrancy.

The colours in 'As Winter Arrives', the largest of the set, are more muted and have a Christmas feel: red, green & cream poinsettias, holly with bright red berries and the green mistletoe with it's white berries. A swipe on a 25cm x 20cm canvas.
