💙 Meet the Team – Welcome, Janet!

We are delighted to introduce the newest member of our Crewkerne team, Janet Howarth, who will be one of the friendly faces welcoming you whenever you visit our practice.

Having called Crewkerne home for the past 40 years, Janet may be a familiar face to many of you from her time at Nationwide Building Society.

She's already settled into life at South West Hearing Care and is enjoying learning all about the difference better hearing can make.

We are proud to once again be involved with the Westbury Festival for 2026. These two weeks in July are always a terrific celebration of community, creativity, and local talent! 👏

Do pop into our Westbury practice (2 High Street) to see one of lovely ladies on the front desk and book your tickets for some of the upcoming events.

Super excited to announce that thanks to South West Hearing Care in Westbury High Street, the Festival box office is now open!

You can now buy in person if you prefer, or tickets are also available online at https://www.westburyfestival.org.uk/events-2026/

One of the most rewarding things we hear from patients isn't "I can hear better". It's "I feel part of the conversation again".

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week, and it's worth remembering that hearing loss can affect much more than our ability to hear.

When conversations become difficult, many people gradually withdraw from social situations and begin to feel isolated.

Looking after your hearing isn't just about hearing better. It's about staying connected to the people and moments that matter most.

🌸 Feel Good Friday 🌸

It is often the little things that mean the most.

This week, one of our lovely patients surprised the team with these beautiful flowers and a thoughtful card that simply read:

"Just a little something to say how lovely you have all been. Thanks again."

Kind gestures like this remind us why we do what we do. Helping people hear better is about so much more than hearing aids and appointments – it's about caring for people and making them feel supported every step of the way.

A huge thank you to Degs for your kindness. You certainly put a smile on everyone's face today.

Yesterday we shared that Simon, Cathy and Ele had attended the launch of the new Allure AI RIC (receiver-in-canal).

Today, we thought we would let the technology do the talking.

Take a look at this short video to discover some of the features behind the latest addition to our hearing aid portfolio and see why we are so excited to be able to offer it to our patients.

If you would like to know whether the Widex Allure AI RIC could be right for you, please get in touch with our team for friendly, expert advice.

Last week, our Audiology team had the pleasure of attending the launch of the brand new Widex Allure AI RIC hearing aid. Simon, Cathy and Ele spent the day exploring the latest technology and learning how it can help our patients hear with even greater confidence.

At South West Hearing Care, we strongly believe in staying at the forefront of the latest developments, so we can continue to offer the very best solutions tailored to each individual.

The new Widex Allure AI RIC has been designed to deliver:

👂 A natural, comfortable listening experience
🗣️ AI-powered Clarity Boost to help speech stand out in noisy environments
📱 Simple smartphone connectivity and app control
🔋 Rechargeable technology with all-day battery life

No hearing aid is right for everyone, which is why expert assessment and personalised fitting remain at the heart of what we do. But it's exciting to see innovations like this helping people reconnect with the conversations and moments that matter most.

We are pleased to say that the Widex Allure AI RIC is now available at South West Hearing Care. If you would like to find out whether it's the right solution for you, our team would be delighted to help.

We were pleased to welcome Adam Dance - MP for Yeovil and South Somerset to our new Crewkerne practice last week.

He met the team at South West Hearing Care, learnt more about the services we provide, and received an ear health check from Audiologist, Victoria.

It was great to share how we support hearing health in the local community and to have the opportunity to discuss the importance of early intervention.

Thank you to Mr Dance for taking the time to visit us.

Happy Somerset Day! 💛

Today is a day to celebrate this incredible county we’re proud to call home. From its rolling countryside to its strong sense of community, Somerset is a truly special place, and we feel lucky to be part of it every day.

We are proud to serve local communities through our hearing care clinics in Street, Crewkerne and Somerton and with so many of our team also from Somerset, it means we have a genuine connection to the people and communities we support every day.

Here’s to Somerset, its people, and everything that makes this county such a wonderful place to live and work.
