Let Your Heart Be A Lullaby

A trail of thought
Emotions drip through
Sometimes all you can give
Is thrown back at you
If a human heart beats through the years
Dancing in between happiness and tears
Step off the train
This is your stop
Look straight ahead
Do not slip
As that’s when emotions begin to drip
What does time matter
As it flutters by
When your heart is happy
It beats to a lullaby
Yet when it is sad
It beats like a loud drum
Walk straight ahead into the light
Don’t let your beating heart
Give in to the fight
One day that beat will stop
Emotions too
Untill then
Your best is all you can do.

Hey everyone,
I hope you are all okay 🥰

Some of my poems are my own experiences of life, some are how I see things and my points of view, some are silly nonsense ones created entirely from my imagination, some are deep and meaningful and I hope touch your heart. This one I share today comes from deep inside, sometimes I feel like I just want to write and the words just flow. This is one of those poems. I hope you have had a nice day folks 🥰

LIFE

Etched in a doorway of silence
Mistrust shines in a cobweb
A tunnel of wonder lights the way
Of golden beams full of love and laughter
A diamond of lust
The sharpest, brightest, tallest dream
That gathers into dust
Fallen by the roadside
Lifted by the voice within
That talks awhile
Tinged with compasion
And half a smile
Everyone has a yesterday
And today is lost in the wind.

Morning everyone

Today I am staying with how a woman can feel. We are unpredictable creatures 🙂 I am sure some women can relate to this. When I write, in my mind I put myself at the centre of what I want to say even though it’s not actually me. It’s just a knack I have 🌝xXx

SHE

If I walked beside you
Would you notice me
Would you feel my presence
If only you knew how much I want you
But I’m no one’s second choice
Sometimes I just daydream
That you tell me you love me
In a forever kind of voice
Then I remember I’m insignificant
In the world in which you live
Does she love you like I would
I want to whisper I love you
If only I could
I want to laugh with you
About silly things
I want to share my life with you
Experience all that love brings
But you never even notice me
Our love is not to be
Your love is for another
And I am not she.

NOT THIS TIME

There was fire in her eyes
As she glanced across the table
She knew what she wanted to say
If only she was able
Her thoughts nudged each other
Fighting for her attention
Her heart stopped beating
If only for a second
A song that played
Reminded her there was no going back
As her future beckoned
Hearts and minds never really balance
As both fight to win
But this time her pride and inner voice
Would not let him in
His regretful eyes tried to swallow her up
Yet she had been there before
She had fell for his lies
Tasted it on his lips
The universe knew she had tried
Her dignity and pride has propped her up
Now the fire in her eyes has died.

For all of you who are missing a loved one 😢

I MISS YOU x

I miss you
I simply miss you
I miss your eyes
The way you looked at me
I miss your smile
I wasn’t ready for goodbyes
My hand and heart feel empty
Absent of your touch and love
I miss you in the morning
I miss your presence in the quiet of the night
I miss you with every breath I take
Every season that passes by
I wasn’t ready for you to die
I simply miss you 💔

Hey everyone
How is it the middle of the week already 🤔
The weeks roll around quickly, don’t you think. So let’s have one of my nonsense poems today. Mind you I love Mary Poppins, I wonder where she lives now. I would love to be her neighbour 🙂

Silver Spoon

The old saying, they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth
Believing they lead a very privileged life
My nan had one in her sugar bowl
My grandad said she was posh
I wonder if Mary Poppins spoon was silver
That she gave the children their medicine off
Looked on by mr. Banks while twiddling his tosh
I bet the queen ate off silver spoons 🤔👑
On an ordinary day
I bet her food went down like Mary Poppins medicine
In the most delightful way 🥄

Morning everyone 🥰

Come take a walk with me

THE OLD GATE

Who walked through that old gate
I thought
As the wind rattled its rusty latch
An old gate well worn with age
How many people have brushed past
In the middle of the forest there amongst the trees
Stood a small rickety fence
Covered in moss and Ivy
With an old gate attached
The years have past by and weathered the fate
Of this unique little gate
Where does it lead to
Shall I explore
Maybe it leads to a cottage
Beyond the trees
With a creaky old door
Will it have roses around the doorway
Flower box’s on the sills
Or will it be a broken down home
Empty with long absent laughter
That a family used to fill
I glimpse across the gate
I see an old cobbled path
I stood and wondered
Who had followed that route
The sun shone through the trees
On the cobbles it shone
What is its story
Of an era gone
I decided I would rather wonder
I then carried on my walk
And just brushed past.

A New Hat

Oh Harriet you have a new hat
Yes I bought it from the shop
My eyes looked out of the window
I could swear it was a mop
Eliza has a new coat
She looks just like a bear
But if she is pleased
Then I am pleased
I cannot tell her what to wear
Granny likes her old pinny
It is well worn like her with age
She is not keen on new things
Wishing she could stay on life’s same page
The pages of life turn over
Like the years they unfold
So buy your new hats, coats and live
Before you get to old
Remember live your life like it is a stage
Oh I just remembered that
I must go and buy a hat 🙂

Hey everyone
Today I share my poem butterfly with you all. Delicate dainty little beauts. This poem is to be the first poem in my upcoming second book. Have a lovely day folks 🥰

BUTTERFLY

Dainty little butterfly
How beautiful you are
Your eye catching colours
Are brightened by the sunshine
As you flutter past
As you travel on your journey of life
Are you going far
You dance around the flowers
You float along on the breeze
You capture our hearts with ease
Years of adoration from eras that have gone
Admired by Victorian ladies as they sat in walled gardens on summer afternoons
Marvellous as you start as a caterpillar then after a cocoon
But then comes the revelation
Of each gossamer wing
As you turn into a butterfly
That flutters it’s way out of sight
Oh darling butterfly
You adorable little thing
Keep charming the generations with all the glory and charm
That you bring.
