Our Community Food Hub will be open on specific Wednesdays from 10:30 am - 11:30 am! 🎉

Starting the 24th of June, West Sussex County Council is working in partnership with UK Harvest, Fight Against Food Wastage, and West Sussex Recycles to reduce food waste and provide access to affordable food made with rescued produce. 🥕

Please visit Chanctonbury Leisure Centre from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Simply bring a shopping bag* and fill it with a selection of groceries!

Our friendly volunteers will be on hand to help you make the most of your weekly shop by sharing recipes, healthy options and tips to reduce your household food waste.

At Chanctonbury Leisure, we understand how important Men's Health Week can be. 💭

To better support the physical and mental health of our male friends, family, partners and colleagues, we’ve put together a list of top tips to help.

1. Prioritise side-by-side conversations. 👥
You don't always have to be face-to-face when talking. sometimes simply doing an activity can help make the chat flow better (walking, driving, watching sport). This reduces pressure and encourages honest conversation.

2. Move daily, 20-30 mins. 🏃
Regular exercise supports heart health, reduces stress, and improves sleep. Even 20-30 minutes of walking counts.

3. Schedule in enough sleep. 💤
Consistent routines, reduced caffeine, and a calm sleep environment improve both physical and mental health.

4. Give yourself an MOT. ❤️‍🩹
A self‑check on body, mood, energy, sleep, and stress levels helps men spot changes early.

“My goal was to get fit enough in four and a half months to climb Catbells, and I did it. I walked 18 miles over the next four days… and those walks weren’t flat either.”

“I am enormously grateful to Vicky for her guidance and support.” - Chanctonbury member, Jill.

Jill joined us at Chanctonbury last November, after her hip replacement in October 2025.

Fast forward to today, and Jill has proved to be an inspiration to us all; completing this climb just four and a half months later is a fantastic achievement. ✨
