That's the first weekend of Open Studios done, next weekend I'll be at Bayhead Bridge Centre along with a group of talented artists.

These events are so wonderful, meeting people and sharing a bit about my creativity and work. It takes quite a lot of work to organise and make them happen so I thought I'd take a moment in the downtime between the 2 Open Studios weekends to celebrate the work done by the Deò - Hebridean Artist Collective committee members.

Go check them out and give them a follow!

Stornoway Art Walk is underway. Local artists are displaying their artwork in the shop windows around the town.

A huge thanks to all the shops and organisations who take part in this, it is a really wonderful thing to support the creative community in this way.

Two of my recent mixed media works are in the window at Sandwick Bay candles (opposite the Town Hall).

Today is Free Art Monday.

Throughout the day artists from Deò - Hebridean Artist Collective will be hiding small pieces of art for you to find across the Islands to take home and keep.

A small package is somewhere along the waterfront in Stornoway, with a view that looks something like this. If you saw and liked the work I shared yesterday then this might be perfect for you.

Have fun and please consider sharing if you find it ❤️

For the 5th year running, I'm taking part in the local Open Studios event. This year it is a bit earlier taking place over 2 weekends -
Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th June in Stornoway Town Hall
Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th July in Bayhead Bridge Centre

Two other annual Deò - Hebridean Artist Collective taking place this week are:

FREE ART MONDAY - small pieces of art hidden for you to find and keep.

STORNOWAY ART WALK - a collaboration with local retailers to share artwork in shop windows around the town.

Please come along and say hi, find yourself a wee piece of local free art and enjoy the artworks livening up our town centre!

The large scale wall prints of these works in Stornoway Library ( Western Isles Libraries ) are just wonderful! For so many reasons I love them. Pop in to see them in person if you're passing.

What started with a design of the Passing Place sign, has expanded into a set of 6 Island icons. It is joined by the Beach and Machair, Calanais Stones, Blackhouse, Bus stops and Croft House designs. Excited to see them in shops in Stornoway.

I like a bit of analogue communications and still send the occasional postcard. These are in stock now at Sandwick Bay candles if you have someone who would like a snail mail message to brighten their day.

While you wait for the football to start 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ⚽️ how cool are these postcards ❤️ Lynne Maciver Artist

Not long now!

I'll be in the Town Hall from the 25th to 27th June and then in the Bridge Centre from 2nd to 4th July along with a group of amazing talented Island artists.

Pop along and say hi.

This years Open Studios is just around the corner. If you're on the island then please pop along to our artists studios and/or our shared venues.
Head to our website where you can see the members gallery and plan your trail.
There are also brochures being distributed around the island so why not pick one up as a keep sake as many artists also have their studios open all year round.

I was really excited to revisit the Calanais Stones for a new design. This time I wanted to capture the circle with the monolith. The more time I spend looking at stones the more I'm tuning into the textures and shapes they are made up of. As well as telling their geographical story, the details in the stones are like abstract images to me. This is one of the stones I really enjoyed drawing.
