Exciting news! 🎉

The Dipping House has been announced as a finalist in the Great Found Space category at the Great British Theatres Awards!

The Great British Theatres Awards recognise the theatres that are making an outstanding contribution to the UK’s cultural life. The Great Found Space award celebrates live performance venues created in found or repurposed spaces, rather than traditional or purpose-built theatres.

We’re so proud to see The Dipping House recognised alongside some brilliant venues from across the UK.

Wish us luck for the Awards Ceremony at Westminster in November! 🤞

You may be wondering...
🧐 What does Integrated Audio Description mean?
Mikron's shows are written so that everyone in the audience can hear key visual information without the need for headsets. So an actor might describe their physical surroundings, movements or a prop as a standard part of the show.

🤔 What's a touch tour?
A chance for blind or visually impaired audience members to explore pieces of the set, props and costumes by touch, helping to provide sensory details and context. Touch tours take place before the performance and are available upon request for Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Top of the Wold and Wensleydale Whey.

🤨 What's a relaxed performance?
A relaxed performance offers a more flexible theatre environment, with the volume lowered and the house lights kept partially on at a low level. Audience members are welcome to move around during the performance if needed. Relaxed performances can be particularly helpful for autistic people, people with a learning disability, people with anxiety, or anyone who finds a traditional theatre environment challenging.

Spotlight on... Sir Gawain and the Green Knight 👑🎄

It’s Christmas in Camelot and the King’s nephew is to be Knighted on New Year’s Day. It’s a time of celebration, but Gawain’s choice to join Arthur’s Round Table hasn’t pleased everyone and dark, envious forces are at work.

When a strange, supernatural visitor interrupts the feast, the young Knight makes a deadly bargain and begins a dangerous quest.

Can Sir Gawain fulfil his pledge without losing either his honour or his life?

We'll be talking all about Stall Stories, a project celebrating memories of Burslem Market Hall delivered by Claybody Theatre in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

We're inviting anyone with memories of the Market Hall to come along and meet with Conrad and Deborah to help preserve its story for future generations.
