Rose of Nevada (15)
Fri 26 and Tue 30 Jun, 7.45pm
When a fishing boat, the Rose of Nevada, lost with all hands 30 years ago, mysteriously reappears in the old harbour of a forgotten Cornish village, for those who remember, it’s surely a sign. The boat must go out to sea again and maybe then the luck of the devastated village will turn.

Young father Nick and mysterious newcomer Liam join captain Murgey, and they head to sea. But when they return, satisfied with their haul, something is amiss — they’ve slipped back in time, and the villagers greet them as if they are the original crew.

Hen (15, subtitles)
Thu 25 Jun, 7.45pm
Told entirely from the perspective of its avian protagonist, Hen is the story of a chicken striving to live her best life. Escaping from an industrial farm is only the first challenge, and her search for sanctuary takes in adventure and navigating the pecking order of a crumbling seaside restaurant in Greece.

As she fights to protect her eggs, she becomes an unwitting witness to the complex human lives around her as the restaurant is caught up in greed, smuggling, and the migrant crisis.

Greek dialogue with English subtitles.

The Christophers (15)
Fri 19 and Sat 20 Jun, 7.45pm
The Christophers is a compelling black comedy from director Steven Soderbergh, exploring artistic legacy, authenticity and the fear of fading into obscurity. It’s powered by the electric pairing of Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel who give the film an irresistible spark.

The children of a once-famous artist hire a forger to finish his long-abandoned canvases, hoping to secure an inheritance before he dies. Their plan ignites a tense battle of wills between the two artists, as a reluctant partnership turns into a clash of ego, talent and ambition.
