As an Expert Citizen I submitted a poem to be featured in the Big Issue. Together with London Arts and Health and the Culture Health and Wellbeing Alliance.

My poem was selected from articles and creativity from over 120 submissions, which are some of the most important in the whole of the arts and homelessness sector.

I am honoured to have the poem ‘Poverty Streets accepted. The poem was inspired by Expert Citizens and The Hardship Commission in Stoke on Trent and has found the right place.

has been co-curated by the Culture Health and Wellbeing Alliance and London Arts and Health.

This special issue for the UK's Creativity and Wellbeing Week features amazing artists, writers, academics and projects in our community showing that arts and homelessness is a 'need to have' not a 'nice to have'.

You can pick up a copy from a Big Issue vendor in the UK and if you missed out - there are some spares & Homelessness International.

I worked on Poverty Streets while listening to a music track from Blackbirdmusic, a French artist and he agreed for his music to be used as a backing track for Poverty Streets here: https://youtu.be/flF4LCxPt9I?si=c_ie0tm9e3pwkCNc

Day I Met The King

It was after a night clubbing and raising hands in revelry and around noon when I departed the parsonage to fetch food to cook later, welk maybe, but with echelon sounds strongly echoing still, I walked past BBC Stoke onto Tesco. On the way back by the Potteries Museum. I witnessed King Charles in a Cashmere coat, Camilla wearing elegant clothes, Range Rovers and security. Then among a bustle by Bethesda Chapel and flower garden, a line of faces, line of hands and mine one of them. Self consciously I followed up to The Princes Trust and asked for a selfie and wondered at the ring his hand clutched.
