Drama School Stoke Drama classes for children 5 - 16 years old, at Thistley Hough & Forsbrook Primary Drama classes for creative children. Aged 5 - 16 years old.

We have a Junior, Inters and a Senior group that meet on a Wednesday evening at the Thistley Hough Academy from 5 pm - 6.30 pm. Also 2 groups at Forsbrook Primary school, Thursday evenings, 5:30pm - 7pm. Holiday activities are also available.

A lovely day today with claybody theatre, who are creating a new audio drama about Hanley’s Theatre Royal, a theatre which holds some very special memories for me. ❤️

As a child, I performed at the Theatre Royal and was even a Hanley Babe, so being involved in this project feels particularly special. I’m also being interviewed tomorrow about my own memories of being a Hanley Babe, which I’m really looking forward to!

But what made today even more special was seeing two young performers with a connection to Drama School Stoke involved in the production.

Harry, one of our current pupils, is taking part in the audio drama, giving him a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a professional theatre company and experience being part of a real production.

And then there’s Fred... Fred came to Drama School Stoke as a child, and I’ve had the pleasure of continuing to work with him in recent years. After completing a foundation course at LIPA last year, which I coached him for, and now I’m thrilled that he has been accepted onto the degree course there, the very same drama school where I trained over 25 years ago.

And today, Fred took another huge step... his professional debut with Claybody Theatre. 🎭

It was lovely to see the two boys together today, at very different stages of their journeys, but both with Drama School Stoke as part of their story.

From the Theatre Royal, to Drama School Stoke, to LIPA and now professional work… what a lovely connection. ❤️

One of the best things we do at our summer school is raise money for a local charity. This year we raised a massive £500 for Fresh Hair, Wigs and Wellbeing located inside Stoke Hospital. Here is the salon manager Emma, who brought alone one of their wigs to show the children and to talk about their amazing work with cancer patients. The salon meant a lot to some of our team. Our wonderful chaperone Lisa recently underwent chemotherapy and used the salon for her wigs. Our student Rhiannon’s Mum also used them when she went through treatment. And teacher Zoë’s Nan used the service before sadly passing away from cancer. Zoë recalls that she loved the ladies there, so it is a very special place for her family. For the children, they had a massive sense of pride that they’ve contributed to help make someone else’s story a little better whilst undergoing chemotherapy. We are so proud of every single one of them. What a wonderful way to finish our Summer School, having fun, making memories and making a difference. 🌟

Our Story Tales week has come to a close. We can’t believe that on Monday morning we had no show, and then in the space of 5 short days we have had the most incredible teachers join us to deliver special workshops alongside our regular drama classes. Which has resulted in a beautiful production full of emotion, personal stories, comedy moments, and most importantly, thriving confidence. Cathy, Vicky and the team couldn’t be more proud 🥰

Day 1 of summer school! Pieces are being created for Friday’s show. Today we’ve done 3 drama scenes and had dance teacher Kayleigh join us for 2 lovely dances! Much fun had by all, and lots of new friendships made. 🥰
