🎨🖊️ Leaving a Mark on Eid Fusion Festival 2026 🖊️🎨
One of the most heartwarming activities at this year’s Eid Fusion Festival was the wonderful community art project delivered by Write Yourself Well
Throughout the day, hundreds of visitors stopped by to share their thoughts, feelings, drawings, messages and creativity, transforming blank canvases into vibrant works of art that truly reflect the spirit of our community.
From messages of hope, friendship, unity, diversity and love, to colourful doodles and personal reflections, every contribution helped tell the story of what Eid Fusion Festival means to the people who attended.
As if that wasn’t enough, the talented Aisha from Write Yourself Well also captured the atmosphere of the day in a beautiful poem inspired by everything they experienced at the festival.
“The highlight of summer;
community coming together-
united together
through dancing, drumming
and singing
A chance to meet new people
and meet up with old friends,
listen to stories, ask questions
and be respectful
of other cultures
as they merge and unite
Fresh mangoes, curries and pakoras
and bakes, icecream and sweets
churros and kebabs,
hotdogs, chips and waffles
fresh lemonade, lassies and mocktails -
something for every taste
Ride the teacups or swing chairs,
get faces painted and henna hands
explore and play
with family and friends
whether you are young, old
or something in between,
dogs and their owners too,
you are all welcome here
Ride a police motorbike
turn into a dragon
donate to charity through tombolas
and support our local businesses
by purchasing their goods
learn to understand
what makes our towns thrive-
it’s us, together, forever
We are proud of this day-
of our people and their lives
we spread ripples of joy
and leave our mark
by bringing colour, happiness and light
here to Ropner Park”
Those words perfectly sum up everything Eid Fusion Festival aims to achieve.
A huge thank you to everyone at Write Yourself Well for creating such a meaningful space where people of all ages could pause, reflect, connect and express themselves. Thank you also to every single person who picked up a pen, drew a picture or wrote a message. Together, you’ve created a lasting reminder of a day that celebrated community, culture and belonging.
These incredible boards will continue to remind us that when people come together with kindness, creativity and respect, we can create something truly special.
