The Smithy Belles

The Smithy Belles Founded in 2013 we're now in our 12th year! We meet on Thursdays (term time only) 7:30pm - 9:30pm at Hazel Grove Methodist Church. New members are very welcome.

No audition or experience required. First session is FREE to new members.

We're back in the choir room this Thursday 7:30pm-9:30pm at Hazel Grove Methodist Church after our half term break. New members are always welcome if you fancy coming for a sing! Did you see us on Rip-off Britain last week? We got scammed so you don't have to!

The Smithy Belles were approached by the BBC to be involved in an experiment, Rip-off Britain were doing a piece on scammers and how they lure the most savviest of us down a path of vulnerability.

We sometimes have conversations at our choir rehearsals about how there has been a message or email sent which looks "dodgy ", so it seemed quite apt to be involved in something so important that can affect everyone.

The programme was aired on Thursday 8th January 2026 on BBC One at 10.45am, take a look on Iplayer and see how easy it is for these scammers to get far too much information out of us, by pretending to look as legitimate as possible.

BUT......they do not need to get the better of us, please follow the link below 👇 where it will give you some points and helpfull advice to stop these disgusting scammers in their tracks when they send emails and text messages.

PRACTICE CANCELLED!
We've taken the decision to cancel our session this evening due to the forecast snow. We hope every stays safe during the cold snap and look forward to getting back into the choir room next week.

Happy New Year from the Smithy Belles!

Want to sing but don't know where to start? Well now is the perfect time to come and give it a go!

We're starting back with a fresh repetoir of music as we put away our Christmas scores, so we're all learning together!

Our first rehearsal of 2026 in on Thursday 8th January at 7:30pm Hazel Grove Methodist Church and your FIRST SESSION IS FREE!

And just like that we've sung our last for the year! Thank you to everyone who came to our fantastic Christmas Concert, Stan who accompanied us on the trumpet and our lovely MD Louis and accompanist Lara for making us sound so good this year! We'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and we'll be back, singing our hearts out in 2026!
