🏳️⚧️✊🏼🏳️🌈 Placards are community power — let’s not see them go to waste. 🏳️🌈✊🏾🏳️⚧️
What a great time at the Manchester Pride Parade!
Yesterday we put 474 placards into the Pride parade: created with over £750 of supplies and 50 hours of volunteering from our small but mighty team of six.
That’s a huge community effort to get q***r voices and slogans out there! 🌈✊
But unfortunately... at the end of the parade we were told there was “no chance” of setting up our four collection buckets..
The end point had been changed without notice, and the usual Fairfield Street spot was inaccessible which wasn't on our plans!
Out of 380 community placards, only three have come back so far. 💔
Now, we do expect some to be taken home and we love that!
Keep them, use them at protests, stick them on your wall. That’s what they’re for.
But we’ve already been told some have been binned, and that’s heartbreaking when they’re not Pride-funded, but community-funded through
