The lovely team from Pure Innovations are back at GRIT to lead another free creative session — come along, get stuck in and make something to take home!

What a lovely morning at GRIT Salford yesterday!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome the Pure Innovations Sing & Sign Choir to Salford Shopping Centre — and they went down a treat with the local community.

There was singing, signing and even a bit of a boogie from some of the shoppers passing by. 🕺💃 We also had local families getting stuck into our sign-themed creative activities alongside the performance.

A huge thank you to everyone from Pure Innovations who came along and made it such a joyful, inclusive session — and to everyone who stopped, joined in, danced, made something or simply stayed to watch.

Exactly the kind of thing we love seeing at GRIT Salford. ❤️

So lovely to see the Gritters (and honorary Gritters!) out in force at Ashton Paint Jam yesterday, hosted by Art Battle Manchester and

.k .mcgillivray were busy painting, Fiona was keeping everyone caffeinated from .thro and were part of the crew running kids’ activities, .maisie and were filming, and were on cheerleading duties… and Tanya was, as ever, being a total legend.

One of our favourite things about GRIT is seeing the community spill out beyond the studio walls. People turning up for each other, getting involved, lending a hand and being friendly faces amongst the crowd.

There was such a lovely little GRIT contingent yesterday and it made us very happy indeed.

More of this please ❤️

Last year, we opened GRIT Studios in an old bank in Salford. We are so glad we did. We love the community and just see opportunity everywhere in Salford. It's a great fit for our Grafters & Crafters.

Once caught up in an area making headlines for all the wrong reasons, a former bank beside Salford Precinct has found a colourful new life as an affordable home for artists and makers.

Yesterday we welcomed the National Trust Heritage Skills team back to GRIT for another stone masonry taster session. This time at our Salford studio.

Everyone had the chance to pick up the tools, learn the basics of stone carving and create their own design. One of the best parts was seeing how different everyone’s finished piece was - no two carvings were the same.

A huge thank you to the National Trust Heritage Skills team for sharing their knowledge so generously. They’re brilliant teachers and it’s always a pleasure to work together.

If you’ve ever fancied having a go at stone carving, keep your eyes peeled. We’ll be running more heritage skills opportunities this October, and we’d love to see some new faces.

We’re kicking things off with Clay and Decoupage activities in our Canal St studio on thurs 6th Aug.

🎨6th August - Stockport Canal St Studios - 10am-12 - FREE drop in workshop using clay & decoupage. For all ages & abilities.

🎵 19th August - Salford Studios - 11am-1pm - Sing & Sign choir performing as well as lots of fun crafts. Come & learn some signs & sing along!

🫟27th August - Stockport Kingston Studios - 10am-12 - FREE drop in workshop using clay & decoupage. For all ages & abilities.
