Aurora Academy of Performing Arts is a Winterguard based in West Sussex, UK. We provide an opportunity for children and young adults to explore blending movement, musicality and pageantry arts in a competitive environment. Winterguard is born from the world of Marching Band where the accompanying Colourguard would spin flags and imitation sabres/rifles to add a visual element to the music. This ha

s since evolved to encompass winterguard: a competitive indoor activity which combines the physicality of sport with the artistry of performance. This takes place in the winter months hence the name. The competitive season runs from September to April, with September-December focused on training and show design and January-April focused on competitive ex*****on and refinement. We are so incredibly thankful to Worthing Community Chest and Stagecoach for their recent donation to our organisation! This donation will be used to purchase our very first brand new performance floor and will be put to very good use for many seasons to come.

✨ Aurora Academy of Performing Arts is back - and we’re looking for our newest stars! ✨

After an incredible first season, we are SO excited to soon be opening our doors for Season Two… from Nutcrackers onwards, every season brings something completely new.

We’re a Colour Guard group (part of .guard.uk) for kids aged 6–12, where young performers learn dance, flag, and equipment work in a fun, supportive team environment. It’s a brilliant activity for kids who love to perform, move, make friends, and try something a little different.

⭐️ First rehearsal: Tuesday 5th May, 5.30–7pm at Steyning Leisure Centre, Lower Gymnasium.

(We rehearse every Tuesday + some Sundays during the competition season).

Spaces are limited. FREE FIRST WEEK TRIAL SESSION.
(£5 per class for summer term rehearsals.)

Finals 2026… what a finish! 🤩

To our incredible staff, thank you for your efforts, skills and passion from day one. To our amazing parents and families; your help and endless encouragement, and your cheering from the sidelines has meant the world. We couldn’t have done it without you.

And to our wonderful kids, who back in May just took our word for it and followed our lead. YOU are Aurora. Watching you grow, shine, and step into your own this year has been the greatest privilege. We are so proud of seeing you to take the floor one last time today and showing everyone what you were made of. 💫

This time next week, our very first season will be complete. 🌟 What a journey it’s been.

We’ve learned so much, pushed ourselves further than we imagined, and built friendships that will last long after the equipment is set down. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of our performers.

We are so excited to take the floor one last time this season and show everyone what we’re made of. 💫
