We have been going strong for almost 50 years now. Each season our aim is to continue the tradition that our founding members established of bringing quality amateur drama to our loyal local audience. We have our own premises, affectionately referred to as 'The Premises' where all r

Set on a beach, “DAY TRIPPERS” by Jean McConnell is a funny, light and touching short play about female friendship, focussing on a day in the lives of two old friends whose long and close friendship is sorely tested ! Long time friends and work colleagues, Beryl and Doris, have arrived at their annual summer works outing to the seaside. After the obligatory trip to the funfair, they settle down on the beach to enjoy some sunshine, snacks, and gossip, where they learn a little more about themselves and their work colleagues than they ought to. What follows is a wonderfully funny sequence of hilarious antics that will keep the audience smiling from start to finish.

Stewarton Drama Group are delighted to bring this funny and colourful comedy play, featuring performances from Caren McLean and Morag Smith, to their audiences on Wed 20, Thu 21 & Fri 22 May 2026 at 7.30pm.

Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy live, high quality, community theatre right on your doorstep !

Three performances of the play will be held in the informal, intimate theatre within the group’s own premises which seats 40 people per performance.

White, red and rose wine will be available for the audience at all three performances. There will also be a raffle each evening.
