Rehearsals have started for our come and sing with Brian Kay in October. We are also planning a couple of Christmas concerts at one of the Oxford Colleges and more locally. If you would like to join our friendly choir, we would love to hear from you, particularly if you sing alto or tenor.

The excellent news continues with the appointment of Sam Dressel as our Honorary President.

Sam was Head Boy at local school Wycliffe College and then a choral scholar with the choir of Gonville and Caius College,

Sam launched his freelance career as a tenor and choral workshop leader after 7 years with renowned vocal ensemble VOCES8. He leads workshops and residential courses for singers of all ages and abilities across the UK and Europe.

Standish Consort were thrilled when Jonny Davies agreed to join us as Director of Standish Consort in June. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate. Welcome Jonny.

A bit about Jonny:

Jonny is a conductor, organist, singer, violinist and pianist based in South Bristol. He has performed regularly at many of London’s cathedrals. He was Organist and Director of Music of St. Olave's Church, Hart Street and St. Katharine Cree in the City of London for 6 years. He was the conductor of Sine Nomine Singers from 2017-23 in southeast London. He is now the Head of keyboard studies at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in central Bristol. He has toured with choirs to Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Latvia. He was the Queen’s Chorister then Head Chorister at St George’s Windsor. He is a graduate of Brasenose College Oxford and Trinity Laban Conservatoire (MMusic).
