🏡 Help Protect Rutland’s Village Halls

📣 Please support the petition and help us protect the future of Rutland’s village halls.

Village halls are community assets — not commercial enterprises.

We’re asking Rutland County Council to withdraw the proposed charges for waste removal from village halls.
From September 1st RCC will no longer empty the Village Hall bins without charge - a charge in South Luffenham that will equate to approximately ÂŁ700 a year (around 15% of our annual income).

Village halls provide affordable spaces for local clubs, activities, events and organisations. We, in South Luffenham are run by dedicated volunteers on very limited budgets, already facing rising costs for energy, insurance, maintenance and repairs.

Adding waste charges could put further financial pressure on these vital community facilities, potentially leading to higher hire fees and making activities less affordable for local people, particularly those vunerable and socially isolated.

👉 If you agree that village halls should be supported rather than subjected to additional charges, please sign the petition which will be in the village hall and share this post with your friends and neighbours If you'd like to sign but cannot get into the hall when it is open please let us know and we'll pop over to you.

Together, we can make sure our village hall remain affordable, accessible and sustainable for everyone. 🏡❤️

Our Annual MacMillan Coffee morning in the village hall will be on Saturday 5th September this year (10.30-12-30).

It would be lovely to have some yummy cakes for folk to enjoy with their coffee (or tea!) or to take away whole bakes for a small donation.

If you’d like to contribute your baking skills please let me know on [email protected]

Any donations will be really appreciated!!

So - don’t forget to pop the date in your diary, come along and enjoy the morning together catching up, having a coffee and indulging in a little bit of something yummy 😋
