The new calendar year begins in January, the new academic year begins in September … and the new barbershop year begins in June, after convention! 🗓️

We spend a lot of the year working on our setlist for BABS, and now that that’s finished, we get to start all over again. June brings us a sense of a new chapter, and it’s always exciting to figure out what we get to do next 🎶

And that’s a WRAP on BABS Sing 2026. It ended with a vibrant afterglow, then a fire alarm in the Crowne Plaza at 3:20am. No harm done except for lack of sleep. Here at A1HQ, we are very grumpy this morning 😂🤣

Thanks for following along with our weekend, and huge congrats to all the competitors, part particularly our A1 gents. Your friends, family and supporters are all immensely proud 🎶

9:37am - A1 were up nice and early supporting our co-Director Matt in the semi-finals of the Male Quartet contest, with his group Northern Quarter. They SMASHED it!

5:13pm - A1 did a truly spectacular performance and I’m sure all spectators and fans of these gents will agree. I have the pleasure of seeing them go from the very first note bashings to the final performance and it was an emotional one all round. Stunning job, boys! You should all be incredibly proud.
