Swilcan Bridge, St. Andrews. 16in x 20in. Oil on canvas
Painted this in Australia. It was nice to have a bit of Scotland in my life when I lived in Melbourne!

Flinders Street Station. Oil on linen board. 2024.
Some more Melbourne memories. I loved walking past this building on weekends so I decided to paint it. I'm looking forward to all my Melbourne art finally coming to Scotland!

Nylex Plastics, Oil on canvas. 2024
I painted in Melbourne! This building was round the corner from my flat and I loved its brutal beauty. A symbol of Cremorne's industrial past that obstinantely stays put. I started it a few months ago and only managed to finish it a few weeks ago.

MELBOURNE thank you for being an incredible home for me these past 6 months. Arguably Australia's best city (don't hate me Sydneysiders) you have a ridiculous abundance of amazing events and I look forward to when I get to visit you again!

Some highlights in no particular order:

1. City views from the rooftop terrace at my residential building in Cremorne
2. Flat Whites every single day
3. Beautiful architecture
4. South Melbourne Market- home of the Pandan flan
5. TAY TAY AT THE MCG!!
6. Australian Open 2024
7. Melbourne Grand Prix
8. A phenomenal theatre scene
9. AFL (still don't know the rules but it's exciting!)
10. BRUNCH

Thank you Australia!

Turned the corner and entered 1997.
You know you're old when you overhear parents of a similar age to you explain to their children "so this is where Mummy and Daddy used to go to rent movies," and the response is "what's a video?"

Bryant and May Building, Cremorne, Melbourne.
Oil on canvas. 2024.
My first painting of 2024 in Australia! I'm planning on doing a series of cityscapes during my time here and I thought I'd keep it local for the first one.

Cremorne is currently where I live and is an area east of the Melbourne CBD, north of the Yarra River that has several old preserved factories.

The Bryant and May building was built between 1910 and 1922 and used to make matches. As soon as I saw the clock tower and brick facade I knew I needed to paint this.

No longer a match factory but the building is well preserved.

New Year. New City. New Job. Melbourne 2024 here we go!
After months of planning and about a thousand forms it's finally happening! Really excited to start my shoulder and elbow Fellowship with the Orthopaedic Team at for the next 6 months.

(Still doing art as I have brought my paints and brushes with me but current commissions on hold pending return to the UK later this year. DM me if needing a print order fulfilled and can sort!)
