🎡🌺 ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR — BROUGHT BEAUTIFULLY TO LIFE! 🌺🎠
A huge congratulations to the U3A team for creating their spectacular show garden, “All the Fun of the Fair” a wonderfully colourful celebration of Southport’s fairground heritage.
The imaginative garden features an original Big Wheel car, two magnificent carousel horses, a traditional carousel crown and a classic Dodgem car, all supplied with the support of Norman Wallis of Adventure Coast.
More than simply a beautiful garden, the display tells an important part of Southport’s story. The Wallis family has been bringing rides, attractions, excitement and happy memories to the town since the 1890s long before Pleasureland itself was ever created.
Generation after generation, the sights and sounds of the fair have become woven into the identity of Southport. They are part of what has made the town’s greatest attraction so special to millions of families.
The U3A team has done a tremendous job of capturing that history through creativity, colour and planting bringing together two great British traditions: the show garden and all the fun of the fair.
A proud celebration of local people, living heritage and more than a century of seaside fun. 🎠🌸🎡
