Southport Aquarium
After more than 50 years, Southport Aquarium has closed its doors for the last time.
We started out as a small, family-run business with a real love of fish keeping, and that never changed. Over the decades we've helped generations of hobbyists set up their first tank, sort out a tricky pond, and everything in between. Some of you will remember our aquarium and tea garden by the pier too, which closed over twenty years ago, long before this shop on Eastbank Street took over as the main part of the business.
Fifty years is a long time to be part of a community, and this hasn't been an easy decision. But every business reaches a point where it's time to stop, and we feel that time is now.
What we'll take with us are the memories: the regulars who became friends, the questions we answered over the counter, the kids with their noses pressed against the tanks. Thank you, honestly, for all of it.
