Holy Trinity Southport is seeking to appoint a Director of Music. The post, part time and permanent, is available from September 2022.
Holy Trinity is very proud of its strong musical tradition and music is a vital part in the life of the church and its distinctive liturgy and style of worship.
The Choir. Following the pandemic, there is little left of the treble line and thus one of the first tasks of the new Director of Music will be to recruit and introduce girls and recruit boys into the junior choir.
The Organs are both electronic; the main instrument has four manuals and 74 speaking stops with a floating west end division. There is also a moveable organ of two manuals with 30 stops. A grand piano is available in church.
The Key Responsibilities of the DoM include delivery of the music for weekly Sunday morning Eucharist and Wednesday Choral Evensong services; they will recruit, lead, motivate and train the choir and will deliver the Cathedral Singing Week each summer.
