Joining us this friday for the Final alongside Martin Hovden, Myles Jones & Hayley Jones on the Judging panel is:
** Darren Leonard **
Darren is a multi instrumentalist who has been teaching music since the 1900's (1999... but yeah)
As an active gigging musician his focus is drums these days but he has played guitar, bass, and also been a frontman in his time.
His favourite gigs were Prince, and Cigar, which speaks to his broad tastes!
"In battle of the band competitions, I've been a finalist 4 times in 3 bands, and never won, So I'm looking forward to sitting next to Martin Hovden on the panel instead of being judged by him this time haha"
A word from myself (Dave Aston) -
"I did work experience in Rimmers Music at the age of 15 (21 years ago), where Darren worked at the time - He took me under his wing in the guitar section downstairs and introduced me to some Punk albums that I still love just as much today. He was a major influence on me growing up in my teens there after. I attended gigs from his earliest bands which gave me the inspiration to always play in a Punk band and always keep music rocking in your hometown.
He's always considered in my eyes as a major influence in who I am today."
