Something completely different, this is a monoprint. I did it using a gelli plate. The paint is rolled onto the plate, the constructed nest is then pressed into the plate along with some leaves and feathers. I painted the eggs with watercolour. The process is very hit and miss, you never know exactly how it will turn out and it can't be reproduced exactly.

This is an axolotl apparently very popular at the moment ! It's cute and scary at the same time. A species of mole salamander, they live in the water in a small area if Mexico. They are critically endangered only 50 to 1000 individuals in the wild, a larger population exists in captivaty. They have the unique ability to regenerate body parts. This one will be appearing in the Maldon art trail ! A4 size.

This is a pangolin, its the only mammal with scales. Unfortunately hunted for its scales which are used in Chinese medicine. This one will be in my exhibition at the ground cafe in Burnham on Crouch starting on 1st of August for 6 weeks.

Currently on display in the museum, this lovely blackbird sitting on her nest. If you look closely you can see a chick poking its beak out. Venue 1 Burnham Art Trail . Dont miss this, only 3 days to go.

The tortoise is now finished. I will display him at my exhibition in The Ground cafe, which starts on the 31st of July for 6 weeks. Meanwhile the Art Trail continues!

The Burnham Art Trail is underway now. We had a lovely day yesterday taking part in Art on the Quay. I spent the day drawing a tortoise, this is my progress so far. I will post the finished picture in due course. There's still plenty of time to visit. Its on until Sunday.
