Relaxed Southend family stay & play, for all ages 💜 Hanging out & making memories 🧡 Toys, board games, art & crafts, jigsaws, chess, pool, table tennis & fooseball & soo much more. The Hang Out Venue vision is a two-function, one venue social enterprise in the centre of Southend-on-Sea. Our mission is to run a profitable limited company which will positively impact and improve lives in a sustainab
le meaningful way, for generations to come. But what we are will inspire, be sustainable, genuine, and successful. We will work hard and make decisions in intentional ways, so our profit enables us to make a social difference and a good living for our family and employees. Every person will feel welcome, supported, safe and included. Whilst we are not a charity will be doing lots of work to support others and ensure our venue is truly accessible, inclusive, and inspirational. We will all foster a sense of friendship and belonging, whilst having fun and gently stretching boundaries. Children come first, so evenings, weekends, and holidays, it will be a safe and fun environment where eight- to twelve-year-olds children can be themselves, hang out playing and create lasting memories with new and existing friends. This age group want to stretch their boundaries and be more independent and need more than soft play They are not ready for the big wide world, just yet! We are not a childcare facility, so there will be an adult’s area where they can chill and pop their heads in to see how the children are, and the children in turn can check in with their adult, if they want to. Facilities will include table tennis, table foosball, an eclectic selection of good quality age appropriate toys. We will have gaming booths with beanbags, screen and video game consoles (Xbox, PS4 & Switch). There will be sofas for the children to hanging out chatting, and tables and chairs so they can play the numerous board games, jigsaws, or grab a book from the book exchange. We will also have a cabin in the garden with an art and crafts room. Southend is the warmest driest place in the UK, so our garden will be an oasis in the city, a place the children can escape to. When the children are at school, our venue will be available for private hire, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00 (term time) as a meeting space for events such as product launches, breakfast and networking meetings, corporate and community events, training, board and business meetings and community groups. It will be a relaxed professional fully accessible venue, with capacity for fifty delegates and the cabin will be available as a breakout space. The venue and its full facilities will enable a relaxed way to talk through business strategies and brainstorming key objectives. There will be no additional charge for projectors, flip chart, pens, and jugs of water. At lunch and break times colleagues can sit on the sofas or lounge on beanbags and play video games, challenge a colleague to a board game or just relax. As part of our charitable offer, we will donate one day per month (term time) free of charge for exclusive use to a local charities, schools and community groups. Terms and conditions apply. Our cafe and tuck shop will not be open to the public. We will strive to provide tasty local, good quality food at reasonable prices. When the children’s sessions are running, and to ensure safety of customers, especially those with food allergies we will restrict food and drinks to be premises bought only. Several allergies, especially with children can be touch triggered. This is in-line with the association for indoor play. To start with our cafe will serve a selection of refreshments such as teas, coffees, hot chocolates, soft drinks, jugs of juice. Food will be cake of the day, jacket potatoes, toasties and sandwiches. The tuck shop will sell crisps, sweets, drinks, popcorn and ice lollies etc. We will provide afternoon tea themed birthday party packages for up to ten children, which will be traditional.
