Dimensions Dance Company Dimensions Dance Company Essex College offers high quality professional dance training to young, dedicated students with an aspiration to entertain.

We are a well established creative dance company based in Essex at South Essex College, founded by Emily Balls and Rebecca Blowes. Our goal is to provide a stepping stone in dance education to take pupils through to a vocational level of training from 16. We provide vocational level training while gaining a level 2 or level 3 diploma from the University of Arts London. We are lucky enough to be th

e only provision in the area to be offering this government funded course which gives dance students a chance to excel their training in a college environment before progressing onto a full time vocational college.

DDC Cohort 2026, are you ready?

Your induction begins on Wednesday 9th, and we can’t wait to meet you all!

Wednesday 9th: 9:30am - 3:30pm - First Years Only
Thursday 10th: 9:30am - 3:30pm - Full Company!
Friday 11th: 9.30am - 3.30pm - Second Years Only

Don’t forget to come dressed in dance attire.

💃 Do you love to dance?
✨ Are you creative, passionate and ready to take your training to the next level?

Your next step could be with us at South Essex College.

We offer the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts — a full-time qualification equivalent to three A Levels, awarded by University of the Arts London (UAL).

Our established course has been running successfully for over 12 years, supporting young performers to develop their dance training, creativity, confidence and professional skills.

🎭 WHERE COULD THE COURSE TAKE YOU?

Our students have successfully progressed to:
• Higher Education courses
• Vocational Performing Arts Colleges and conservatoires
• Employment within the creative and performing arts industries

And the skills you develop through performing arts can take you even further. Former students have also progressed into careers including teaching, marketing and other professional industries.

🎓 Contemplating what to do following your GCSE results?
💃 Love to dance?

Have you considered our UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (Dance Pathway)? ✨

Based in Southend, this two-year course is designed for dancers looking to progress to university or conservatoire training, vocational performing arts training, apprenticeships or employment within the industry.

As a member of our in-house Dimensions Dance Company, you’ll develop your skills across a range of genres, including Jazz, Commercial, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap and Heels, while gaining valuable performance and industry experience. 💫

🎭 What can you expect?
✨ Industry workshops & Q&As
🎬 Film projects
💃 A range of performance opportunities
🎭 End of Year Show at Towngate Theatre
🩰 Audition preparation
🎟️ Theatre trips
🎓 UCAS & progression support

And there are no written exams — assessment is through practical work supported by a portfolio.

The course is FREE for learners aged 16–18.
