Want to be part of Big Up Southend? 💛

We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help support our monthly market at Victoria Shopping Centre.

Big Up Southend is all about celebrating local makers, small businesses, young entrepreneurs and creative people across Southend, and volunteers play a huge part in making that happen.

You could help with:

🛍️ welcoming traders
📍 setting up the market
🎨 supporting free craft activities
📸 taking photos and social media content
💛 chatting with visitors and helping the day run smoothly

You don’t need loads of experience, just a friendly attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.

Our next market is Saturday 26 September, 11am – 4pm at Victoria Shopping Centre.

If you're 19 or under and make your own products, we're offering young people the chance to experience trading at Big Up Southend completely FREE during the summer holidays.

We can provide:

🪑 Your table
🎨 Tablecloth
💳 Card reader
🤝 Support from experienced traders
💛 A welcoming place to try running your business

You don't need to already be an established business. If you've been making jewellery, artwork, crafts, gifts or another handmade product at home and wondering whether people might buy it — this could be your chance to find out.

Big Up Southend is currently welcoming applications from independent traders and young people aged 19 or under can apply for a free stall during August.

You do not need years of experience or a huge product range. Some of the best small businesses begin with one idea, a handful of products and the confidence to give it a go.

🌟 Are you aged 19 or under and making your own products?

Throughout August, Big Up Southend is offering young makers and entrepreneurs the opportunity to trade with us completely free of charge!

We will provide:

✨ A free stall
✨ A table and tablecloth
✨ Access to a card reader
✨ Support from experienced local traders
✨ A friendly place to experience running your own business

Products must be handmade, and anyone under 16 will need to attend with an adult aged 18 or over.
