Revel Theatre's last member! Eliot Reid 🪡

Sitting at my Poppa's kitchen table with my siblings and favourite cousin, hearing the "boring adult" conversation coming from the dining table in the next room. I was a fussy kid so my Poppa would cook me well salted cheesy pasta served on my special Toy Story plate. We would laugh and tell stupid jokes and when dinner was done beg to try red wine again- I'm still not a fan. How I wish to get to have dinner at that table, in that house once more. I am proud to take on my Poppa's surname as my stage name.

Introducing our second member of Revel Theatre... Maryam Noorhimli 🎧

Last day of Ramadhan. I remember the smell of kerosene and the dusty feel of uncooked rice. Sometimes my job was to go around and make sure there was a date on each plate around the table. We’d all gather and wait until the call of prayer announced that Eid had arrived, the night air feeling lighter. 🌙

Hari terakhir Ramadhan. Aku ingat bau minyak dan beras yang berdebu. Kadang-kale, tanggungjawab aku adalah untuk memastikan terdapat sebiji kurma atas setiap pinggan di meja. Keluarga aku akan tetap berkumpul dan menunggu bunyi Adhan untuk mengumumkan pendatangan Hari Raya. Aku terasa udara malam disegarkan. 🌙

My Granddad used to cut his own Christmas tree in our garden and my Grandma would spend ages decorating it with honey candles and straw stars ✨ When all their grandchildren sing with them they are happy.

Mein Opa fällte seinen eigenen Weihnachtsbaum immer in unserem Garten. Oma verbrachte Stunden mit dem Schmücken. Honigkerzen und Strohsterne. ✨ Wenn all ihre Enkel*innen mit ihnen singen, sind sie glücklich.

Welcome to Revel Theatre! We are made up of 3 graduating actors from the East 15 Acting School planning to devise an exciting show with participants within the Southend community.

We want to explore everything cultural, traditional and ritualistic. Our company is also looking to work with participants of all ages who don't have a lot of experience in performance but would like to explore more stage work.
