🎨ARTIST DEMO DAVID CHISNALL 🎨

📍Sunday 21th June 11am to 4pm

Meet our resident woodturning extraordinaire, David Chisnall, this Sunday at the Palais! With over 25 years of experience, David’s work is a masterclass in patience and precision.

He works with a stunning array of indigenous and tropical timbers - including rare finds from Tasmania - and uses acrylic lacquers to bring out the secret "glow" in every grain.
David’s latest collection features pieces crafted from fallen trees at the iconic Exbury Gardens. It’s a true celebration of nature’s second life.

✨New work added! ✨

We’ve just introduced a stunning, one-off silkscreen diamond dust Whitney Houston print to our Rock Legends Live exhibition.

Currently mounted in our Chez Moo space, this exceptional show features the “lost media” of British fine-art photographer Zoe Wilson. Shot between 1986 and 1992, these meticulously restored images capture over 100 global icons—including Prince, Tina Turner, and The Rolling Stones—at the absolute height of their careers.

Don’t miss this powerful fusion of music history and modern art at The Palais before it closes on Sunday, 14th June!

💍CONGRATULATIONS TO LONG & LYNN💍

Thank you to the many friends and customers who joined us at The Palais to celebrate the wedding of Long and Lynn.

It was a perfect afternoon of laughter and celebration - in the very place where their story first began. Surrounded by art in a room filled with love, it really was the most special and memorable day for all of us.

A huge thank you to Matt and his wonderful team from Fire and Rocket catering who served up the very finest sourdough pizza.

This weekend marks the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings.

It is also the second anniversary of the unveiling of our riverside sculpture Ave Atque Vale, which means Hail and Farewell in Latin.

Commissioned by British photographer Alistair Morrison as part of the Time to Connect project, and created by artists Chris Campbell and Marianne Shillingford, the sculpture depicts a woman in a rowing boat waving a handkerchief.

Also known as The Lady of the South, the piece holds profound local significance. During WWII, nearby Exbury House was requisitioned by the Royal Navy as HMS Mastodon.

It was staffed by over 100 Wrens who played a vital role in planning the Normandy Landings, while the landing crafts themselves were built nearby at Buckler’s Hard.

It stands as a timeless tribute to those brave departures 82 years ago, and to the women who served, planned, and waved farewell. Ave Atque Vale is located a short walk from the Palais des Vaches gallery near Beaulieu River.
