ractitioners arrive in their everyday national dress—not a costume, but a reflection of who we are! As we teach, we share our lives, answer questions, and create meaningful connections. Every workshop is a journey into the beauty of Africa, breaking stereotypes and showcasing the continent’s diversity. Our sessions are fully inclusive, adaptable to all abilities, and designed to educate, entertain, and unite. Unlike many providers, we don’t contract out—we are the artists. As specialists in our field, we bring authenticity, passion, and expertise, with enhanced DBS checks and £10 million public liability insurance for peace of mind. Join us in celebrating African heritage through creativity, learning, and joy!

Lovely day on Southampton Common with Urban Wild. We spent the day making birds from recycled materials, exploring printmaking, drumming together and gathering stories for our belonging bird – collecting thoughts about home, nature and what it means to belong.

Huge thanks to everyone who came and shared their creativity, stories and energy, and to the organisations helping make it happen, including Urban Wild, New Forest National Park Authority and all the artists, volunteers and partners creating spaces where people and nature can come together.

Community is something we build together – one story, one rhythm and one bird at a time.

Yesterday we led two guided walks through the New Forest, bringing people together to slow down, listen, and notice the stories held in the landscape around us.

Thank you to everyone who walked with us, shared conversations along the way, and to the rangers from New Forest National Park Authority for sharing their knowledge and helping us see the forest through new eyes.

Sometimes belonging starts with something very simple: walking together.

A powerful day of creativity and reflection.

Alongside , , we were part of a programme organised by bringing together mapping, movement, poetry and discussion.

We explored co-creation through Adinkra — using symbols, stamping and conversation to reflect on how we learn, connect and create together.

A week in libraries across the New Forest with Forge Theatre Company and .

We’ve had some really powerful responses this week.

Next week, we take the work into care homes — to residents, and to the staff who care for them.

Many of those staff are from the global majority, often finding their way in new systems and spaces.

Belonging has always sat at the heart of Nightjar.

Nightjar families are coming together.

Through our home education sessions in drumming, history and art — across the New Forest and beyond — families are connecting and supporting each other and their children.

Some travel a long way to be there, others are close by, but there’s a shared commitment to being part of something together.

This is a space shaped by global majority families and their allies.

If you’d like to hear more about Nightjar families, please get in touch.

Over 50 people came together for our Home Education Day at .

The day brought together storytelling, music and making — sharing the story of the Nightjar, drumming together, and creating milk bottle Nightjars.

The added real depth through their videos, displays, and the team who brought them to life.

It was a strong day of learning, creativity and connection, and a real pleasure to spend time together in this way.

We’ve loved delivering these wellbeing sessions at as part of an ongoing 12-week programme.

With support from Blagrave (16–25 sessions) and (under 16s), we’ve been able to create a consistent, welcoming space for young people to take part in creative activity and connect at their own pace.

Over the weeks, we’ve seen quiet but meaningful shifts — young people building trust, re-entering shared spaces, and finding ways to express themselves in their own time.

We’re really grateful to everyone who has made this possible, and to the young people and families who have trusted the process.
