Congratulations to two of our latest recruits who have received their official British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) certificates.
Les Pike (left) was part of Ocean Harmony’s autumn recruitment campaign as is now an important member of the baritone section, while Raj Perumatantri (right) joined us shortly afterwards and is a key singer with the leads. They are pictured receiving their certificates from chairman Glyn Perrens.

A very enjoyable outing for Ocean Harmony at Fareham Music Festival on Saturday - we were awarded 1st place with Honours in the Barbershop Chorus class, and Honours in the Songs from the Shows class. We were particularly pleased with the Adjudicator's comment "...generally the chorus has a "young" sound" - we'll take that!
Plus our new quartet, Just Four Now (Aaron, Dudley, Gary and John), were awarded third place in the Barbershop Quartet class - well done!

A very successful evening at Southampton Festival of Music and Dance for Ocean Harmony!

OH were awarded "Outstanding" and were joint winners (with Queen Bees) in the Songs from the Shows class, singing our Toy Story package.
OH also scored high "Honours" in the Adult Choir A Ca****la class with our Convention songs, Come Fly With Me and If I Give My Heart to You.

And a great evening for our quartets, with Just For You (Dudley, Aaron, Gary and John N) winning the Adult Small Choir Recital class with "Honours", and Southern Gentlemen (Alan C, Clive B, Frank and John Y) being awarded "Honours" in the Adult A Ca****la class.

A really enjoyable evening of Festival singing!

Congratulations to Gary Ford on being awarded Ocean Harmony's Most Improved Singer trophy for 2025, a very well-deserved accolade for a stalwart of the Tenor section!
Gary has quite often been the sole tenor at singouts and always sings well, including receiving a spontaneous round of applause for his solo rendition of Irish Blessing which floated beautifully around the hall. Well done Gary!

Congratulations to Glyn Perrens on being awarded the Ocean Harmony "Singers' Singer Trophy" for 2025! This is a very special award as it's voted for by the whole membership for the person they believe has done the most for the chorus or individuals over the past year. Glyn has made a tremendous impact in his first year as Chair of Ocean Harmony, having initially taken on the leadership on an interim basis, and has impressed us all with his pro-active, efficient, yet calm and easy-going manner.
Well done and thank you, Glyn!
Glyn was presented with the Mike Roberts Trophy for Singers' Singer by Frank Henry, Vice-Chair of Ocean Harmony.

Charity Concert on Sunday 8th March, 2.30pm, Colbury Hall, in aid of Wessex Cancer Support - featuring the Sing for Life Choir and Ocean Harmony, plus other guest acts.
Come and support this very worthwhile cause - and have a great afternoon's entertainment! See you there!

Great time at Bassett Green Primary School this week. The children were very enthusiastic and we really enjoyed the morning - that’s what singing is all about!

Yesterday we were lucky to have 9 members of Ocean Harmony Chorus come and perform in KS1 and KS2 assemblies as well as running a harmony workshop in year 4. They were brilliant and one Year 4 said, "Best day ever!" A huge thanks to the members of Ocean Harmony for giving up their time for us.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!"
Another enjoyable singout for Ocean Harmony at The Grange, Hedge End on Thursday. Very well received by residents and staff, with lots of interaction, especially with a "split chorus" encouraging our audience to join in our fun Christmas songs - and The Wellerman certainly went down a treat!
