☆Amanita☆

Quick run in to Steyning earlier to restock swizzle sticks and drop of some brand new hanging Amanita to fill some gaps. These went in the kiln up to almost 800°c late afternoon yesterday when it was 27 degrees outside - I have literally sweated over them 😆

Venue 7 - The beautiful 400+ yr old listed Quaker Meeting House, with five other artists. It's cool in there so pop by!

☆Starstruck!☆

🌟That's pretty much how I feel every time I'm asked to join an event, a gallery, an open house! I put two of these brand new vessels into the Quaker Meeting House, venue 7 for Art Trail this morning - the most beautiful, historic little hall that is now filled with gorgeous work made by people whose skills always make me feel a little, well, starstruck!

I am at the venue Saturday 23rd 2-5pm and Sunday 24th 11-5pm. The trail runs this weekend and next, including Bank Holiday Monday. I'll try to get my act together with some sort of reel..! ✨️

☆ Prosperity ☆

🌳 Flourish, thrive, chase wellbeing, enjoy the trees, the sea, the greenspaces and sky. Look at reflections, ripples in water and wisps of cloud. Prosperity isn't just about money, it's also about recognising the things that bring quality and freedom to our lives. Easy to write, sometimes tricky to appreciate!

I enjoy making these little tealight eggs. Sometimes the small things bring the most joy. This version is a miniature echo of my large Abundance vessel. Vastly different size, exactly the same sentiment 🍃

☆Abundance☆

I cannot believe how quickly 2026 seems to be passing! Beltane has been and the wheel is turning towards Litha at what feels like a rate of knots. Litha is Midsummer. Although it might not feel it in the UK, Midsummer is the peak of the sun's power - the longest day, where we experience the most light and (theoretically!) warmth.

Many things are abundant at Midsummer - light, growth, colour. This large, irregular-shaped kiln-formed glass vessel transmits light in way that makes each coloured, layered leaf-form and swirling pattern sing. Does it make you smile?

Website update! I've finally categorised things, rather than having all my work dumped into a single gallery. Should be much easier to navigate now! That's a way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend... Find the link via Linktree from my bio ✨️

🐦‍⬛ Birds / Birbs / Borbs - A little flock will be heading to at the end May for Steyning Arts Trail. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from making vessels!

🐦 There are a very limited number of each of these glass birds - they're a joy to see peeping out of their boxes but honestly they're a right fiddle to make! Still wondering about designing some new robins though... might wait for Christmas (might not 🤔)

Blackbirds (lyrical songsmiths)
Long-tailed t**s (flying lolipops)
Wrens (shouty borbs - 99% voicebox)

☆Oak & Ash☆

🌳 The last piece(s) in this current little series of work based around Sussex folklore and legend. 'Chanctonbury' and 'Bramber' are interpretations of specific sites (obviously!). 'Oak & Ash' are a mini homage to our Ancient English Oak and Ash trees, from the Queen Elizabeth Oak in Midhurst - a 1000 year old Sessile Oak, to the many Ancient Oaks at Petworth and Common Ash dotted across Sussex (although many Ancient Ash have succumbed to Dieback in recent years).

🍂 98% pure silver leaf on glass, sitting in an English Ash stand, which holds a tealight candle if you like!

(BTW I don't normally photograph things on my stairs, but the light was 👌🏻☀️)

🌳 Long Tailed T**s - tiny flying lollipops in white, black and pink, tails longer than their bodies and bellies as round as a ball. Sweet, noisy little things.

Adding to my glass bird / birb / borb line-up for Steyning Art Trail at the end of May. I'll drop a small selection into in Worthing too 🐦
