🌟🌟🌟 August Bank Holiday weekend means prep for 🎄🎄🎄 is Go. Cosmic Stars sold out last year. I only made them in aqua blues but people asked for other colours so fiery reds (and possibly greens) are coming this year. I design and fire my own sheet glass for these so have total flexibility over how they look. A bazillion hand-cut triangles, a ton of kiln firings, about 100m of gold satin ribbon and several bouts of hand cramp later, there you have it!

♻️ These are made by recycling broken picture frame glass. If anyone around Brighton / Shoreham has good size pieces going spare please drop me a message! ♻️

☆July-August 2026☆

Back at Uno Seaford for the first time in what feels like an eternity! There are some new artists in this month including Gill Bustamante with her massive, magical, dive-right-in paintings. Also two new-to-me ceramicists - one who has made a series of incredible bonfire-fired vessels that look like flint and feel like marble, and another whose mystical birds I really should have taken a photo of, if only so you could see the ridiculous amount of detail on the feet and talons. Ofc I can't remember either name, but trust me when I say go to Seaford and take a look!

As ever you can also find some of my pieces at the lovely Gigglewick Gallery - ‘Find the Extraordinary’ in Worthing. It's a special little place in the Royal Arcade and really worth a visit.

🍏 Clemmening 🍺

In Sussex, the Novembet feasts of St Clement and St Catherine were traditionally marked by children singing (or rhyming) their way around town to ask for apples and ale. The tradition survived a 1540 Royal Proclamation that effectively banned children from having any sort of fun on Saints' Days and seems to have eventually died out in the 19th century. It has been revived and modernised recently in some parts of East Sussex, although I've not experienced it!

This medium-sized vessel is part of my 'ancient landscape' series, based on Sussex history and folklore. It's off to Uno Seaford next week.

☆Amanita☆

Quick run in to Steyning earlier to restock swizzle sticks and drop of some brand new hanging Amanita to fill some gaps. These went in the kiln up to almost 800°c late afternoon yesterday when it was 27 degrees outside - I have literally sweated over them 😆

Venue 7 - The beautiful 400+ yr old listed Quaker Meeting House, with five other artists. It's cool in there so pop by!

☆Starstruck!☆

🌟That's pretty much how I feel every time I'm asked to join an event, a gallery, an open house! I put two of these brand new vessels into the Quaker Meeting House, venue 7 for Art Trail this morning - the most beautiful, historic little hall that is now filled with gorgeous work made by people whose skills always make me feel a little, well, starstruck!

I am at the venue Saturday 23rd 2-5pm and Sunday 24th 11-5pm. The trail runs this weekend and next, including Bank Holiday Monday. I'll try to get my act together with some sort of reel..! ✨️

☆ Prosperity ☆

🌳 Flourish, thrive, chase wellbeing, enjoy the trees, the sea, the greenspaces and sky. Look at reflections, ripples in water and wisps of cloud. Prosperity isn't just about money, it's also about recognising the things that bring quality and freedom to our lives. Easy to write, sometimes tricky to appreciate!

I enjoy making these little tealight eggs. Sometimes the small things bring the most joy. This version is a miniature echo of my large Abundance vessel. Vastly different size, exactly the same sentiment 🍃

☆Abundance☆

I cannot believe how quickly 2026 seems to be passing! Beltane has been and the wheel is turning towards Litha at what feels like a rate of knots. Litha is Midsummer. Although it might not feel it in the UK, Midsummer is the peak of the sun's power - the longest day, where we experience the most light and (theoretically!) warmth.

Many things are abundant at Midsummer - light, growth, colour. This large, irregular-shaped kiln-formed glass vessel transmits light in way that makes each coloured, layered leaf-form and swirling pattern sing. Does it make you smile?
