Day 01: Grand Opening of Bradford African Festival of Arts - BAFA 2025 which included African Fashion and Textile Showcase ๐Ÿค—

Among the African Fashion attireโ€™s displayed yesterday at BAFA opening ceremony, there was a long vibrant colourful dress from Ovaherero people of Namibia ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฆ the most distinctive feature of Herero womenโ€™s dress is their horizontal horned headgear - called otjikaiva, which is a symbol of respect and honouring cow ๐Ÿ„ horns that have historically and currently sustaining the ovaHerero people.

I picked a pink black colour, inspired by Owambo tribe of Namibia ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฆ called Ondelela ๐Ÿ’ž which makes the dress more inclusive to the Namibian people๐Ÿช˜.

It is an honour to display my cultural design of among with other African designoat ๐Ÿช˜๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿบ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿค—๐Ÿฅณ
