Prima Ballerinas — our class for 3 to 5 year olds — and it's a big step for a little person. 🩰

This is often the first thing a child does properly on their own. Grown-ups don't come in — they walk through the door themselves, find their spot, listen to a teacher who isn't a parent, and come out 30 minutes later taller than they went in.

In class we build real ballet foundations, but gently: proper positions, pointed toes, skipping and galloping, enhancing their incredibly creative minds, learning left from right, remembering a beautiful sequence. And of course they LOVE the butterfly wings 🦋

What parents notice at home is different. They notice their child waiting their turn, following two instructions in a row. Standing up straighter. Announcing to the whole supermarket that they are a ballerina 🩰

It's wonderful preparation for starting school — and it's brilliant fun, which matters more.

Tiny dancers wanted. 🩰

Our Baby Ballet classes are for little ones aged 18 months to 3 years — and they are every bit as joyful as they sound.

Here's what actually happens across 45 minutes:
We tiptoe. We stomp like elephants. We wave ribbons about. We curl up small and stretch up tall. There's a story, there's music, there's usually a teddy involved, and there is a great deal of giggling.

What your little one is quietly picking up along the way: balance, coordination, listening, taking turns, and the confidence that comes from being in a room where someone knows their name.

And you stay in the room throughout — 45 minutes in a warm studio with other parents, watching/joining in with your toddler being completely delighted with themselves. No drop-off, no separation, no wondering how they're getting on.

🌟 Katelyn 🌟

Katelyn had the opportunity of a lifetime recently. She successfully auditioned (hundreds applied from 55 different countries and ONLY 13 people were chosen) for a fully funded trip to the Boris Eifman Dance Academy.....

The programme was personally selected by Boris Eifman, one of Russia’s most celebrated choreographers and a People’s Artist of Russia. The concept was that Russian dancers worked with the international choreographers, while we international dancers each worked with two renowned Russian choreographers to create original commissioned works. These pieces were then premiered and performed at the Boris Eifman Gala.

Alongside the creative process, the programme included a fully funded cultural exchange. Our accommodation, flights, visas, meals, and a daily allowance were all provided. We also had an extensive cultural programme, including tickets to the Mariinsky Ballet, a backstage visit to an Eifman Dance Company production, museum and city tours, and even a private yacht trip during the White Nights to watch the bridges opening over the Neva.

It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Beyond creating and performing the work, there was so much networking, daily masterclasses, professional photography and videography, and a film crew documenting the entire programme for a short documentary. We also ended up doing several live TV interviews, which were very spontaneous, and they always seemed to pick me because I was the native English speaker! 🤣
