Spotlight Dance Academy is a vibrant local dance school offering tuition in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Freestyle Disco, Lyrical and Acro Dance. Catering for all age ranges from tiny tots to teens and adults, we welcome everyone from complete beginners to the more advanced. Our aim is to offer any child who is interested in dance the opportunity to learn and develop in a fun, social environment, with emp

hasis on gaining skills and knowledge within all techniques to examination standard. Principal, Amanda Beaton, has been dancing from the tender age of 5, training for 11 years under the NCDTA syllabus continuing on to gain a BTEC National Diploma in Dance and a BA Honours in Contemporary Dance at Newcastle College and is fully qualified under the UKA syllabus and a member of the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association. Our teachers are fully DBS checked and hold current Paediatric First Aid certificates. Our studios are based at Chuter Ede, South Shields where we have excellent facilities including spacious studios, music systems and a canteen area. Spotlight Dance Academy is excited to launch our very first Boys Only Dance Class! 🎉

Designed for boys aged 5–11 years, this fun and energetic class will explore Street Dance, Hip Hop and Commercial styles in a supportive and welcoming environment.

As part of Spotlight Dance Academy, dancers will also have the opportunity to take part in our exciting performance opportunities throughout the year, including community events, parades and our annual theatre show.

📍 Purpose-built studio on Beach Road, South Shields
📅 Wednesdays at 4:15pm
⭐ Starting September 2026

Whether your child is new to dance or already loves to move, this is the perfect opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, make new friends and express themselves through dance.

🩷🤍🖤 And we couldn't finish the year without celebrating a HUGE achievement from our very own Neve! 🖤🤍🩷

✨ Neve has been with us since day one, always bringing enthusiasm, dedication, and a love for dance. Watching her grow over the years has been incredible. She has worked so hard to develop her performance, choreography, and teaching skills, building on the amazing natural talent she already has. 🌟

📚✨ Today we received the BEST news… Neve has not only passed her Associate Teaching Exam… she passed WITH HONOURS!! With thanks from 🤍🎉🏆🌸

What an incredible achievement, and one that is so well deserved. 💖

🩷 There is absolutely no holding you back now! It has been such a privilege to teach you over the years, watch you grow into the beautiful dancer and person you are today, and now have the honour of working alongside you as part of our teaching team. 🖤✨
