🌿 Creative, Nature‑Based Learning for Schools & SEN Support

I’ve shared a video today showing how I help childminders meet the EYFS through hands‑on, nature‑inspired activities — and the same approach can enrich learning across primary schools, supporting both the National Curriculum and wider Ofsted expectations.

My sessions offer meaningful benefits for:
• Teachers – curriculum‑linked, practical learning that brings topics to life
• SENCOs – calm, sensory‑rich activities that support regulation, engagement and inclusion
• Support staff – structured, hands‑on tasks that work beautifully in small groups
• Pupils – creative, confidence‑building experiences rooted in nature

Through nature based crafts, sensory exploration and outdoor learning children develop (to name a few!):
• Fine and gross motor skills
• Communication and teamwork
• Early science, art and geography understanding
• Emotional wellbeing and self‑regulation
• Curiosity, problem‑solving and real‑world learning

If your school is looking to enhance outdoor learning, enrich curriculum themes, or offer inclusive, sensory‑friendly workshops, I’d love to collaborate.

🌿 Willow Weaving Workshop – Calm, Connect & Create.

Step into a slower pace and enjoy a calming, hands‑on introduction to willow weaving. Using beautiful natural willow, we’ll explore two very beginner‑friendly projects that help you switch off, tune into nature, and enjoy the simple rhythm of making with your hands.

This workshop is all about ease, presence, and connection — to the materials, to the moment, and to yourself. No experience needed, just curiosity and a love of natural craft. You’ll leave feeling grounded, relaxed, and proud of what you’ve created.

At Nature Makers, our sessions for children are all about developing creative skills and nature connection alongside improving wellbeing!

While beautiful creations are certainly a bonus, it's the process where transformative learning happens.

We love seeing children blossom in areas like problem-solving - figuring out how to use natural materials in new ways, or overcoming small creative challenges with their own brilliant minds.
It's big learning for little minds!

And it's not just about individual discovery.
When children engage in collaborative art, they naturally develop essential communication skills, using both words and actions to work together.

Imagine the chatter and teamwork involved in creating a giant beanstalk painting as part of a cooperative landscape scene!
It's wonderful to watch them support each other and appreciate different ideas, which is fabulous for teaching an appreciation of other people's thoughts and feelings too.

Want to learn more about the incredible benefits of Process Art and how our outdoor play unlocks these vital skills and more?
