Thanks to funding from the Sir Barry Jackson Fund, 3 of our Exchange artists were able to take their learning into schools, co-leading workshops and developing creative resource packs for schools with support from the Calathea Arts team.

📝 Vig delivered poetry workshops with support from Fran, describing the opportunity to work in a new school as "very very exciting" and sharing that "the workshops themselves were beautiful".

📸 Tyler Whiting delivered photography workshops with support from Ruth. Reflecting on the experience, Tyler shared that co-leading workshops for the first time helped them "develop my confidence in workshop facilitation" and "push myself, my creative practice and my skillset".

🎵 Michelle delivered music workshops with support from Charis, sharing that "It was so much fun" and that "having the opportunity to do the workshop twice really opened up the 2nd session from the feedback I got."

We're incredibly grateful to the Sir Barry Jackson Fund for investing in the next generation of creative facilitators and making these opportunities possible.

Snapshots from Exchange 2026!🌟

Over two brilliant days, co-directors Ruth, Charis & creative practitioner Fran, worked with 10 Midlands-based artists delivering facilitation training, creative skill-sharing and collaborative learning.

We’re especially proud that Exchange was delivered as paid training supported by Arts Council England, helping make professional development more accessible while creating meaningful opportunities for artists to grow their practice and build community together 🤝

Special thanks to Exchange alumni Jess Mabel for notetaking and supporting the sessions, Arena Theatre for the space and all our wonderful participants for your openness, curiosity and commitment!
