✨ Meet our Production Team ✨

Leading a band of merry musicians will be:
✨ Alex Miranda Zezula ✨

Despite being quite the whipper-snapper, Alex is an old hand to the company having provided cover for show week with us for Sunshine on Leith in 2024, and ensured our songs were ship-shape MD-ing Anything Goes (2026).

He’s also been involved in several projects and shows during his time at the Birmingham Conservatoire including currently MD-ing with the National Youth Music Theatre, and is currently in his final year of study. (We know you’ll smash it, Alex!🧑‍🎓)

While arguably insane for agreeing to return for yet another show with the company, Alex is back behind the piano! Ready to whip us into the in-key corral he knows we can be! (Right… right?!)

People will say we’re in tune 🎵🎶

Feeling “daid” keen to get stuck in?! Judd do it!

✨Meet our Production team✨

Starting off strong with our choreography outfit:
👯🏻‍♀️Donna Rhodes & Jo Murphy!👯

This dynamic duo are no strangers to the company, having walked 500 miles (and then 500 more) choreographing STC’s Sunshine on Leith in 2024 and both having performed with us many times, with Jo having joined at just 16! (Going on 17)

Donna said “I can’t wait to team up with Jo again for Oklahoma! We worked together on Sunshine on Leith and it was an absolute dream. I’m so excited to be doing it all over again!”

Together, both Jo & Donna look forward to working with STC’s Oklahoma! cast, having lots of fun and hopefully making the whole experience something really special.

✨ We can’t wait! ✨

Huge congratulations to our friends at The Core Theatre! 🎉

We love being part of your story and helping you shine. Now, who’s ready to keep that same energy going and help us pack out the house for our next show? 👀🎭

🎭 Let’s keep supporting local theatre! 🎭

Theatre in celebrates record year after reopening.

The Core Theatre is celebrating its busiest period on record after welcoming more than 60,000 visitors in its first 12 months since reopening.

The theatre sold 63,492 tickets across 278 shows since May 2025 – a 10% increase in visitors from the same period in its last operational year in 2022/23.

Of those, 71% of people visited for the first time since pre-Covid, with a diversified programme of shows from the world of music, theatre, and comedy; alongside spoken word, drag, cinema, bringing in new and returning audiences.

It marks the theatre’s best 12 months on record and comes as a double celebration with The Core celebrating 10 years since it officially opened as The Core Theatre in May 2016.

Solihull Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Wazma Qais, said: “The Core is at the heart of our town centre and is an important part of this Council’s commitment to supporting the borough’s cultural sector and visitor economy, so we are delighted that the theatre has enjoyed its busiest period on record.

“For this to come in the 12 months after reopening is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in bringing audiences back to the borough; and our many talented local production groups and performers who are the lifeblood of local theatre.

“That, to me, demonstrates the appetite for local theatre in the heart of Solihull and sets up an exciting year ahead as The Core celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2026.”

Highlights from the past 12 months include the return of Christmas panto for the first time since pre-Covid, as Little Wolf Entertainment staged 50 shows of its magical production of Aladdin – the most panto performances ever held at the theatre.

New monthly comedy club ‘Funny to the Core’ has brought rising and established comedians to Solihull, a varied film line-up has introduced a popular new Hong Kong cinema programme, while the West End has come to Solihull through National Theatre Live screenings.

The theatre is gearing up for a busy year ahead, having recently announced three outdoor summer theatre events at Brueton Park and the return of panto in December as Little Wolf Entertainment return with a production of Peter Pan.

Anything Goes has been so easy to love, but as we watch the SS American sail into the distance with our hearts full, having danced all through the night at the after party, made new friendships, and having gotten a kick out of the applause and roaring laughter of our audiences each night
… it’s time for a new adventure.

… and Oh! What a beautiful new show we have for you.🐴👢🌾

⛴️✨ THE CURTAIN FELL FOR THE FINAL TIME… AND WHAT A VOYAGE IT’S BEEN ✨⛴️

Last night, the S.S. American docked for the very last time and what a glorious, tap‑dancing, heart‑thumping, laughter‑filled journey it was.

When that final curtain came down on Anything Goes, it wasn’t just the end of a show. It was the end of a ship full of memories: the sparkle of Reno’s final note, the chaos of Moonface’s schemes, the sailors’ swagger, the Angels’ glamour, and every perfectly‑timed tap that shook The Core Theatre in the best possible way.

The audience rose, the cast beamed, and for a moment the whole room felt like it was breathing the same breath — proud, emotional, and just a little reluctant to say goodbye.

To everyone who boarded our ship this week: thank you. You laughed with us, clapped with us, and sailed with us all the way to that final blackout.

Here’s to the cast, the crew, the band, the backstage magicians, and every soul who made this production shine.
And here’s to the magic of theatre — where every ending is really just the start of the next adventure.

🎭❤️ Anything Goes — over and out.
