This September, why not join our friendly Arts Society which serves central and south east Lincolnshire? You can come along to the first lecture free of charge to give us a try. Subscribe for 2024/25 and enjoy nine wonderful lectures ranging from Gustave Klimt in 19th Vienna to the Music of J S Bach; and from Florentine Women of the Renaissance to a talk about depictions of Cats in Churches! The first lecture is at 2pm on Thursday 12th September at Great Hale Village Hall, with a cup of tea afterwards. We hope to see you there.

Welcome to 2024 and a Happy New Year! If you are looking for inspiration and to learn something new why not think about coming along to our lectures over the next few months. We have professional speakers talking on varied subjects: "Saving the Nation's Artistic Treasures in WW2" in February, "The Royal Society of Needlework" in March, "Landseer - his life and work painting animals, particularly dogs" in April, and "William and Jane Morris" in May. You can join the Society for a reduced rate of £40 at this time of year and attend as many of the four lectures as you can. Contact Kate our Membership Secretary to sign up now!

Join the The Arts Society Holland & Kesteven for this year's fascinating series of lectures. The programme this year ranges from Ice Age Art to the School of Needlework, from the music of St Pauls Cathedral to the art and craft of Jane & William Morris. The first lecture starts at 2pm on Thursday 14th September at Great Hale Village Hall (NG34 9LH) and all are very welcome. Our Arts Society year has come to an end, but never fear, the programme for 23/24 starts on 14 September. Nine wonderful lectures from leading experts in the comfort of Great Hall Village Hall which has lots of free parking space, comfy seats and a chance to share a chat and cup of tea with our friendly group.

NEWSFLASH: Unfortunately due to potential train strikes and personal circumstances of the lecturer, we have had to postpone next week's lecture on Sir Edwin Landseer. He hope to re-schedule it next season.

We are very pleased that we have replaced it with a lecture from historian and author Guy de Beydoyere, who lives more locally. His talk will be on PHAROAHS OF THE SUN (the title of Guy's recently published book). HOW EGYPT'S DESPOTS AND DREAMERS DROVE THE RISE AND FALL OF TUTANKAMEN'S DYNASTY.

Guy is a renowned historian well known from appearances on Channel 4s Time Team and for his books on ancient and Roman history. He has just returned from Egypt with lots of new photos to illustrate his talk, so this lecture will truly be just off the press!
