On Wednesday 09 September, 1030-1230, we have just 3 places left on "A Floral Garden" - another NEW class for 2026, brought to us by Laura Kent of Flourish Events.

This workshop will entail lots of play with acrylic paints to find a floral garden style scene. We will be exploring texture and different brush strokes to make shapes in various ways. We will be paint splattering and using wet paint techmiques too.

You will have time to paint a 30x30cm canvas with some trial pieces/paper first.

Please wear old cloths as paint can splatter. You will receive an apron and all paint supplies are included – no need to bring anything.

The cost of the class is £35 per person. All materials, tuition and refreshments – including home made cake! – will be included.

No artistic experience is necessary; this class is suitable for those who are beginners or no painting experience.

DON'T BE LATE! Due to overwhelming demand, I have included another 4-class course for sewing a garment using a pattern. There are only 4 places available on this course, so be quick to get your place!

In this course we will be learning how to read and cut pattern, how to transfer it to fabric, and make a garment. You will have the choice of making a sleeveless, short-sleeved, mid-sleeved or long-sleeved top, or dress with the same sleeve choices, with a zip in the back.

All fabric, tuition, materials and refreshments are provided. You must already know how to thread your machine and bobbin and be able to create a seam on your sewing machine (or we have good machines in the craft room if you prefer to use one of ours).

We were delighted to host the South West Academy of Fine Arts this week. We enjoyed a fabulous talk by Vin Jelly, Academician, and discovered that he and I had something in common....we've both entertained Dame Sarah Mullally, now Archbishop of Canterbury, in our homes. She sat for a portrait for Vin, and I had the pleasure of inviting Dame Sarah and her husband for Sunday Lunch 😁 A truly lovely lady. And Vin was great too! 🤣.
